When You're Not in Trouble but Just Want to be Included
"My 3-year-old daughter, Isla, was upset. We turned off the video at dinner time and she sat in the hallway screaming. My 7-month-old son mimicked her screams and my husband, Brendon, and I are trying not to laugh. 2 minutes later, she calmed down, apologized, and gave us a hug."

Skier Crashes into Cameraman
Sallinen was halfway through his run when he lost control on the left lip of the pipe, soaring over the edge and clipping the camera to send the operator crashing to the snow.
Sallinen dropped back into the pipe to complete his run and the judges were very unimpressed, giving him a score of 18 out of 100, and the camera operator was soon back up on their feet as qualifying continued.

Rivie Schwebel and Nachum Segal
Unless you have been in deep hibernation for the past month, you have probably seen advertisements for the upcoming Jewish Music Hall of Fame Show, presented by Makor Care and Services Network. In an era where we are bombarded by an onslaught of hyperbole, stimuli, advertising, and entertainment, it can be hard to distinguish between real quality and plain hype. It’s a world of ‘been there, done that.’
But sometimes something big comes along, something really huge and epic, an event that grabs the attention of even the most jaded. The Jewish Music Hall of Fame Show is a one-of-a-kind mega event - you do not want to miss this one.
The legendary Sheya Mendlowitz, master of grand events and the original producer of quality musical performances has graciously agreed to produce this unique event. The show will benefit Makor, a comprehensive network of support, services, and care for individuals of all ages with physical or intellectual disabilities.
To Sheya Mendlowitz, this event is like a dream come true.
“I have always felt that there should be a Hall of Fame honoring the immortal composers and artists of Jewish Music,” says Sheya. “They aren’t just entertainers – they are part of the fabric of our Yiddishkeit. Their songs uplift us, they add to our davening and Shabbos tables, and even our children are still getting inspiration from their music.”
So, which performers will the Jewish Music Hall of Fame Show feature?
“That would be like telling someone what’s inside his gift-wrapped birthday present before he gets it,” smiles Sheya. “It’s more exciting when it’s a surprise. So, I’m not about to divulge the names, but you can believe me that this will be a Who’s Who of Jewish Music. No matter what your preference may be, you will find it onstage that night!”
Tickets to the February 27th event have been selling quickly as the excitement and momentum are mounting. The added incentive of supporting a worthy organization like Makor has prompted many individuals and corporations to sponsor the event at various levels.
Makor, formerly known as Women’s League, has been providing a full range of professional services and loving care to our community’s most vulnerable individuals for more than 40 years. As a true non-profit organization, Makor accepts even the most challenging situations that other agencies are unable to. Makor’s broad range of professional services addresses all ages and stages, from infancy to senior years.
“They are an unbelievable group,” says Sheya. “There is so much love and dedication that goes on in that organization – it’s a privilege for me to do this event for Makor.”
Tickets can be purchased by calling 347-304-0180 or online
Together We Can Raise the Funds to Save Binyamin’s Life!

Two months ago, who would have believed that my little Binyamin would be hovering on the brink of life and death?
I’m still waiting to awaken from this nightmare and return to the normal, simply, carefree existence that we lived until now.
But until I do, we’ll have to continue fighting to save Binyamin, fighting this battle that’s so much stronger than us. A battle so overwhelming that I’m forced to sit down and write you this letter from the bottom of my heart…
Please click here to save Binyamin’s life
My name is Estie, and I’m Binyamin’s mommy.
My husband and I waited eagerly and prayed tearfully for Binyamin, our firstborn, for many years. Several months ago, we celebrated his upsherin, shedding tears of joy as he proudly donned a yarmulke and tzitzis for the first time.
And now, we’re on the verge of losing him!
A month ago, Binyamin complained that his head hurt. We didn’t think much of it. I gave him a drink and kiss and told him that he’d feel better soon.
But he didn’t. Over the next few days, he complained often, and then he started to vomit.
I took him to the doctor, still assuming that it was a bad virus, although a little voice in my head warned of something worse.
The doctor sent us for standard blood tests, which were followed by more comprehensive testing that caused our hearts to pound in terror. After dozens of checks and scans, we received the chilling, shattering diagnosis.
Binyamin has a brain tumor.

There was no time to lose, and Binyamin was rushed into surgery for hours. He remained in the operating room for what felt like an eternity, at the end of which the surgeons emerged wearing grave expressions.
They told us that there is but one treatment that can save his life, and this surgery is available in only one place in the world—Vienna.
“Every hour is crucial,” we were warned. “Your son needs this surgery immediately.”
It was at this point that I felt that it was just too much to bear. My beautiful, precious Binyamin is ill. Not just ill, but dying. And now we needed to make emergency arrangements to fly him to Austria for surgery.
A surgery that we can’t afford.

We’re struggling financially. We haven’t even managed to cover our rent in several months.
It’s been ages since I’ve bought even the simplest treat or yogurt for the kids.
New clothes for the winter? We can’t dream of it.
How are we supposed to come up with the astronomic sum to cover air travel to Vienna? Accommodations and food when we arrive? Medicines and treatments that won’t be covered by health insurance? A babysitter in Vienna for my toddler and infant during the long days when we’re in the hospital?
But how can I let money stand in the way of my child’s life?
How can I balk at the thought of begging you all to help if it will save Binyamin?!
We can’t let Binyamin die because we can’t afford the surgery that can save his life!
I’ll do everything in my power, give everything I have, to save him.
This is why I’m turning to you now and begging you to help save my Binyamin!
This surgery is his only chance to live. Don’t let us lose him! Join us in saving his life!
Please.
Don’t let Binyamin die!

Dear Jewish Brothers! You’re the Only Family I Have!
Only with your generous help can I stand beneath the chuppah!
Please click here to help Eliyahu
This is not just another campaign. This is an inspiring story of heroism and faith, of trials and tribulations, of spiritual yearning and a journey that will warm your heart and inflame your soul.
It’s a story of a ger tzedek, a chosson, a young man alone in the world who is turning to Klal Yisrael with a heartfelt plea.
Because Klal Yisrael is the only family he has.
This letter was written by his own hand, with copious tears…

Acheinu Bnei Yisrael! Rachmanim Bnei Rachmanim!
My name is Eliyahu Pilshtinsky,
and I’m a ger tzedek who lives in Yerushalayim.
I’m turning to Klal Yisrael as a whole, and each person individually, because you are my only family.
Please let me share with you a little about the story of my life…
I was born in Ukraine, and when I was a young child, moved with my family to Israel. I attended public school, where Torah, mitzvos and Yiddishkeit remained as remote from my world as they had been during the years spent under the Iron Curtain. Throughout adolescence and early adulthood, I felt a strange void, a vacancy in my soul, and I knew that there had to be more meaning to life. I began to search, and being in Israel, discovered truth right around the corner. It was clear that Torah Judaism was truth, the continuation of Torah from Sinai. I took to Torah like a fish to water and began undertaking more and more mitzvos, until I discovered the truth.
Judaism wasn’t mine. Torah wasn’t mine.
I wasn’t even a Jew. My grandmother wasn’t Jewish, and by extension, neither was I.
Initially, I was shattered, devastated. How had I come so far just to reveal that I’d been living a lie?! After recovering from the shock, I realized that I could still make Torah and Yiddishkeit mine. I could still be a child of the Ribono shel Olam. I’d discovered truth, and nothing would keep me from away from it.
I learned for several years before converting in a chashuve Beis Din in Yerushalayim where I, baruch Hashem, accepted the yoke of Torah and mitzvos. Since then, I spend my days and nights in the Beis Medrash, making up for lost years and loving every second of limud Torah.
Sadly, my parents view my pursuit of Torah as an utter waste of time and refuse to support me. In order to cover my basic living expenses, I clean shuls late at night. It’s hard work, and the income is minimal, but it’s worth every moment of limud Torah.
Baruch Hashem, I am now engaged to a wonderful young woman—a baalas teshuvah and baalas chessed. Together, we daven to build a beautiful home and raise a proud Jewish family.
Yet I am all alone. I have no family. I live alone and have no savings. I cannot even afford to cover minimal wedding expenses, and because of this, we can’t set a date for the wedding!
I’m reaching out to you with a heartfelt cry to please have pity on me! Help me! Lead me to my chuppah! My kallah and I have both been through so much in the past years, and we have no support. Help us start out married life on the right foot!
Im yirtzeh Hashem, I’ll daven for you on my wedding day!
Surely in merit of your generosity, Hashem will shower you with brachah and hatzlachah, health and parnassah, nachas and simchah always!
Tizku l’mitzvos! With a heartfelt cry for help,
Eliyahu Pilshtinsky

Yossi Glanz - A Simen - Single
Yossi reached out to Producer Motti Gantz, sitting down with Composer Yitzy Waldner to develop the record. Following the theme of וְחָנֵּנִי, the chorus begins ”ווייז מיר א סימן"- asking for a sign; acknowledging our imperfection and celebrating Hashem's inherent love for Klal Yisrael.
With much work and dedication Motti Gantz is Proud to present “A Simen”. Motti worked alongside arranger Shimon Strohli to bring the song to life. Recorded at Motti Gantz studio featuring musicians from across the world, the beautiful track features a wide array of instrumentation including Avi Singolda, Emanuel Truco, Yanky Brown & Choir, amongst others.
“I am unbelievably grateful to finally share this project with the world…”, Says Yossi. “The way that Motti hears music is something I've never seen before”. A Simen is now available everywhere.
