“I’m not the next big singer, and I’m not looking to take the Jewish music world by storm.” So you might be wondering who Shimi is and why he is releasing this new song. I’ll let him answer you in his own words. “My goal is to share this song with the world. I want people to hear it and connect with it. I would love to inspire. That’s the greatest feeling there is.”
Shimi started composing songs as a Bochur. Already from a very young age he has always been passionate about music. He enjoyed singing and was part of several projects including the famous Tzlil V’Zemer Boys Choir under the leadership of Avrohom Rosenberg. The style of songs that he composed was very much in the mold of Abie Rotenberg’s Dveykus or Shmuel Brazil’s Regesh. He enjoyed composing songs that he felt came straight from his heart. As he tells it, “I don’t play any instruments. I don’t sit down by a keyboard and just decide to create a song. My songs have simply come to me through different inspirational moments.”
“This is actually my first song I’m making public because it fits the style of contemporary music. I don’t really have a passion to sing on stage at weddings, concerts or the like. I’m just sharing my heart and hoping to inspire someone.”
This song you are about to hear was produced by Yitzy Waldner, with the music arranged by Naftali Schnitzler of House of Music. The song was developed over many Friday nights. It was originally composed as a 2 part song, but after hearing it, Yitzy encouraged Shimi to add a 3rd part. Eventually it became a 4 part song.

Emotional Reunion Between Jewish Yemenite Families
The UAE has succeeded in reuniting two Jewish families from Yemen with the rest of their family members, some of whom had not seen them for decades.
The UAE state news agency reported Monday that the UAE had succeeded in rescuing two more families from Yemen. The first family, comprising 15 members, had been separated from their relatives in Yemen for 21 years. Some of them now live in London. The grandfather, grandmother and uncle travelled from Yemen to the UAE for the emotional reunion with their relatives.
Yitzhak Fayez, 35, told the Emirates News Agency (WAM) that he had not seen his uncle and grandparents since he moved to the UK from Yemen.
“The last time I saw them was as a child. They are today meeting their great grandchildren for the first time,” he said.
“Today, the UAE made my family’s dream come true after we had lost hope on getting reunited, after 21 years of separation”.
His mother, Losa Fayez, said that their reunion had put an end to 21 years of suffering.
The second family, consisting of five members, were reunited after 15 years apart. The mother, two children and father, Haron Salem were flown in from Yemen to the UAE to meet their relative, who lives in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
“Words cannot express how grateful we are to the UAE. We are very happy being here reunited with our family member. The UAE is truly the homeland of love, tolerance and peace,” Salem said.

"A Dream Come True" Tantzers Chanukah Event
For one night, over 200 families exchanged hospital bracelets for park bracelets.
For a few hours, 1600 patients, parents, and siblings got off their medical roller coasters and onto amusement park roller coasters.
For one incredible event, fathers, mothers, sons, and daughters stopped fighting for their lives and had the time of their lives instead.
A few months ago, Tantzers a Brooklyn based organization that supports families dealing with medical crisis, began planning their annual Chanukah event. “Usually we rent a hall,” says Tantzers’ founder Zelig Friedman, “but due to COVID, we needed a bigger venue.”

Yoni Z - Every Yids a Fire - TYHnation Music Video
Composed by: The Blumstein Brothers
Arranged by: Shloimy (Zaltz) Salzman
The neshamah of a Yid is compared to a flame. At birth you are entrusted with an internal spark, and your job throughout life is to ignite this spark until it illuminates like a full blown fire.
On a deeper level that light represents the small piece of Hashem that you have within you. So if you ever feel down remember “ Kodesh Heim” - *Every Yid is Hellig, because Every Yid is A Fire! *

30,000 Children Speak & Hear Because of One Super Mom
Imagine turning on the faucet and not being able to hear the water run. Or taking a walk and seeing the birds but not being able to hear their song. For 5 year old Batsheva, this was the world she lived in. “I would miss sounds. Some days I could hear and some days there was just silence. It fluctuated.”
As a parent, when you learn your child is deaf, there is immediate panic. As Batsheva’s mother Pnina expresses, “You worry, will my child be like other children? Will she be accepted or make friends? Will she be bullied?”
Pnina, a speech language pathologist spent those early years taking her daughter from service to service and therapist to therapist. “At that time, there was no one central location with comprehensive programming that could help Batsheva,” explains Pnina. “It is crazy that New York, which was at the forefront of technology, still had no program for our daughter. We had to be the ones who put it together.”
After researching other programs across the country, the Batsheva’s parents began a school in their own living room. The goal? To give any child with auditory-processing disorders or hearing loss, access to the best services and succeed at anything they wished to accomplish.
Since then, Strivright/the Auditory Oral School of New York, has helped over 30,000 children between infancy and five years old. Now, in the wake of programming cuts and services due to the pandemic, the school is poised to launch an ambitious crowdfunding project to raise $1,000,000.
The campaign, “I Am a Hearo” is an empowering campaign designed to give every child with hearing loss the chance to be a Super-Hearo.
The first five years of a child’s development is critical to their success. Over the last year, when services and learning have been interrupted, children with hearing loss and processing challenges have suffered a regression of skills that they’d previously achieved. Simply stated, they have fallen behind. They will grow up struggling in their classes, in their friendships and in their jobs, unless someone reaches out and gives them the extra support they need to catch up.
Join the fight to hear. You can make a difference in the way a child listens and speaks for the rest of their lives. CLICK HERE to play a vital role in setting a “hearo” up for success.
By joining this campaign you help spread a message of positivity and pride for the hearing loss and processing community, banishing all shame, so that children can feel truly proud to be the Super-Hearo they truly are.
