Rechnitz Twins Play Basketball Against NBA Players

Orthodox Jewish philanthropists Shlomo Yehuda and Yisroel Rechnitz playing basketball with two NBA basketball stars, Lonzo Ball and Kyle Kuzma of the Los Angeles Lakers.

The scrimmage took place at a tzedakah event hosted by the Rechnitz twins on Sunday May 6 2018, le’ilu nishmas Yisroel’s wife Avigayil A”H. The ‘Hoops for Hope’ basketball tournament benefited Ateres Avigail, a volunteer-driven organization dedicated to assisting and supporting Jews in the Los Angeles community facing medical crises. Services by the organization include: meals, transportation, hospital and home visitation, medical equipment g’mach, medical referrals, housing near Cedars-Sinai and more.

At the event, teams of three men or boys took part in a basketball tournament, with the winning team having the honor to play against a team of three Los Angeles Lakers players, while being coached by retired Lakers and New York Knick player Metta World Peace. Ball and Kuzma were joined by fellow Lakers’ teammate Julius Randle for the game.
