Suspect Escapes Cops after Running from Jail

Indiana authorities have released video of an 'extremely dangerous' suspect escaping from a squad car that was parked inside a jail garage.

Michael Maldonado, 25, allegedly escaped from Porter County authorities shortly after 11am on Monday just moments after officers had parked in the garage of the Porter County Jail.

Surveillance footage shows two police vehicle pulling into the garage and parking.

The officers are seen getting out of the vehicle and walking toward an exit as the garage door begins to close.

A closer look inside one of the police cars, Maldonado is seen moving around and climbing into the driver's seat of the patrol car.

Maldonado was taken into custody on charges of resisting law enforcement

He then opens the driver's door and makes a beeline to the opening in the garage door. Maldonado makes a narrow escape under the door as the officers try to run after him. One of the officers sounds the jail's alarm while the other officer releases his K-9. The officers are then seen running out of the jail's garage with the K-9.
