Jews of all walks of life pray as they gather for Tisha B'Av at the Western Wall in the Old City of Jerusalem, July 31, 2017. The Tisha B'Av ceremony, the ninth day of the month of Av in the Hebraic calendar, is the darkest day in the Jewish calendar, marking the destruction of the two temples, first by the Babylonians in 587 BC and later by the Romans in 70 AD.

Tisha B'av at the Kotel
Tisha B'Av 5777 - from the author: "Our group went up to the Kotel for Maariv and Eicha. As we have in the past, we sang together at the end of davening with the crowd joining in. Similar to last year, the crowd at the Kotel continued to sing after we left. Apologies for the bad camera work. I am too busy singing to really get a good shot. Also, I used a new phone and the sound quality was not there."
