Amshinover Rebbe at his Mother's Levaya

The Amshinov community in Yerushalayim was saddened Sunday morning with the passing of Rebbetzin Chayah Nechamah Milikovsky A”H. The Rebbetzin was the daughter of the Amshinover Rebbe, Harav Yerachmiel Yehudah Meir, ZY”A, and the mother of the current Amshinover Rebbe Shlita,

Born in Poland in 5685/1925, the Rebbetzin immigrated to Eretz Yisroel as a young woman with her father, the Amshinover Rebbe zt”l.

When she reached marriageable age, she married Rav Chaim Milikovsky ZT”L, Rosh Mesivta at the Amshinover Yeshiva in Yerushalayim. (Rav Chaim met his illustrious father-in-law while learning in the Mir Yeshiva in Shanghai during WWII.)  In their later years, Rav Chaim and the Rebbetzin lived in Tzefas.

Their son, the Amshinover Rebbe Shlita, succeeded his grandfather as Rebbe, after the Rebbe’s passing in 5736/1976.

She was noted for her Chessed and Tefillos and many ladies would seek her Brachos and Tefillos. It was noted that her Petirah was on 4 Kislev, the Yahrtzeit of the first Amshinover Rebbe, Harav Yaakov Dovid Kalisch, zy”a.

She is survived by her sons, the Amshinover Rebbe and his brother, Rav Moshe Milikovsky, Rosh Yeshivas Amshinov, and her daughter, Mrs. Rivka Zonneband.

Her levayah was on Sunday, and Kevura in Har Hamenuchos. Yehi zichrah baruch.
