A man was arrested early Thursday November 3, 2016. after authorities say he pointed a high-powered construction laser several times at an overhead media helicopter in Denver.
There were three people aboard the aircraft, including a pilot, a camera operator and a radio traffic reporter. The crew was not hurt. They zoomed the on-board camera to get the suspect's vehicle information and location and called police. In less than an hour, police had arrested a suspect.
According to the FAA, a law signed in 2012 makes it a federal crime to aim a laser pointer at an aircraft.
