Frightened tourists were thrown or forced to jump to safety from an out of control horse-drawn trolley after the animals pulling the carriage were suddenly spooked.
Footage of the ordeal shows terrified children and adults leaping from the tourist trolley in Stanley Park in Vancouver on Monday after the horses mounted a curb and ran off.
The two horses destroyed a sign and park bench and narrowly avoided toppling into a lake as they pulled along the carriage of screaming tourists.
The horses are said to have taken off after hearing noise from nearby protesters and became startled by a person beeping their car horn.
