Two Mile Long Dyke is Blown Up

Incredible video footage has caught the moment a giant dyke is blown up to disperse floodwaters between two lakes in central China's Hubei province.

Chinese military authority blew up the barrier measuring 2.3 miles long on July 14 after concerns that they were in danger of overflowing, reports the People's Daily Online.

A total of 30 tonnes of explosives were used during the effort to prevent further flooding in the area after Hubei province has been battered by heavy storms and flooding.
