Two Wounded in Shar Yaffo Stabbing Attack Die of Injuries

Two Wounded in a Stabbing terror attack in Jerusalem died of their injuries on Wednesday evening, hospital officials in Jerusalem said.

Two Palestinian terrorists stabbed three Israelis near the Old City’s Jaffa Gate on Wednesday afternoon, December 23 2015. before being shot and killed by two female Border Police officers patrolling the highly-populated area.

One of the victims who succumbed to wounds has been identified by Israeli authorities as Ofer Ben Ari, 40. Ben Ari, a resident of Jerusalem, is survived by his two children.

The second Israeli fatality from the Palestinian knife attack in the Old City of Jerusalem on Wednesday has been identified as Reuven Birmacher, 45, a father of seven from the town of Kiryat Ye'arim.

“Just after 12:30 p.m., two Palestinians carried out a stabbing attack here,” said Police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld shortly after the assault.

“As a result, three Israelis were injured; two of them seriously, one of them moderately-to-seriously. Two female Border Police officers that were in the area responded, ran to the scene, spotted the terrorists and shot them. One was killed and one was taken to the hospital.” The second terrorist later died of his wounds, a hospital official said.
