Incredible footage shows the nail-biting moment a plane takes off at the Caribbean island of St Maarten, and misses the cameraman by feet.
The Princess Juliana International Airport has gained a global reputation for its apparent near-misses when coming in to land, but footage of a plane taking off from this angle is ‘very rare’.
The brave cameraman took up his position at the very end of the runway, waiting for the plane to complete its dramatic sunset take off.
The passenger jet approaches at a terrifying speed and with a deafening roar, soars incredibly close to the camera.
The airport has one of the world’s shortest runways, and heavy aircraft such as Boeing 747s are forced to fly alarmingly close to a popular tourist beach.
