Dov Hikind Arrested Outside Sen. Schumer's Office

New York City Assemblyman Dov Hikind (D-Brooklyn) was arrested along with eight other members of the Jewish community outside the Manhattan office of New York Senator Chuck Schumer’s office.

Hikind and his fellow protesters were handcuffed and charged with civil disobedience after they laid down on the pavement in an effort to get the attention of the pivotal Schumer.

With chants of “Chuck the deal” and “Schumer be a shomer,” protestors echoed the sentiment that was on display Wednesday when over 10,000 demonstrators rallied in Times Square.  “We have been called upon to act and now is not the time to remain silent,” a defiant Hikind said.
