Terrifying NJ Turnpike Trailer Crash Caught on Video

Black ice following heavy rain in the Northeast caused hundreds of accidents, including a harrowing close-call on the New Jersey turnpike that a driver caught on cellphone video.

In the description of the YouTube video, the driver wrote, “I was blocked by two trucks on southbound I-95 at exit 9 in NJ (New Brunswick exit).  I only wanted to take a picture while I was (waiting) for them to clear up . . . and then I heard (a) noise from behind.”

The tires of the tractor-trailer can be heard screeching as the driver loses control, sending the vehicle hurtling toward the the back of his car.  The driver manages to miss his car, instead slamming into — and over — the median.

The man filming incredibly escaped injury.  It’s still unclear whether or not the truck driver was hurt in the crash.
