A Movement on Trial - The “Unknown” Story of Hey Teves
Get it here.
A Movement on Trial, explores the events surrounding the theft of books and manuscripts from the Lubavitcher Rebbe’s library and their subsequent return to their rightful place in 770.
Whether you experienced the events of Hey Teves yourself, or if you are new to the subject, the events presented in this film illustrate that this was not only a legal challenge, but also a spiritual struggle over the very “soul” of Lubavitch, and even over the very definition of what a Rebbe is.

Impressive spinning rocket was sent spiraling hundreds of meters into the air at a rocket festival in Thailand
Footage was taken by a reveler at a festival in Thailand and shows a group of brave men setting light to the giant wheel - before running away from it.
As the spinning rocket builds up speed, it begins to take off and races into the bright blue sky.
Climbing for hundreds of meters and for more than 30 seconds, all the rocket leaves behind is a twisted trail of smoke as onlookers cheer at the stunning sight.
It finally stops as it reaches into the clouds and begins falling to the floor - but not before a parachute is deployed to ensure it lands safely.

From Kuwaiti Arab to Jerusalemite Jew
I grew up hating Jews but today I find it an honor to belong to the Jewish nation,' says Mark Halawa, who was born to Muslim parents, but whose maternal grandmother was Jewish.
“I was born to a secular Muslim family in Kuwait,” Halawa told Tazpit News Agency in an exclusive interview. “We didn’t strictly follow Muslim traditions, but I would accompany my grandfather, who was religious, to the local mosque.” Halawa spent a lot of time with his grandparents and knew early on that his maternal grandmother came from a Jewish family. “We knew that our grandmother’s family was Jewish but it never meant anything more,” said Halawa.
“I saw a siddur once in my grandma’s home and sometimes I would see her tearfully read from it when she was alone,” he recalls. “I once even found her birth certificate, which contained the last name, Mizrahi, and Hebrew, Arabic and English on the document’s header.”
At age 13, Halawa’s family left Kuwait following Sadaam Hussein’s takeover of the tiny Persian Gulf nation which had left his father’s business in ruins. The family immigrated to Canada but eventually returned to the Middle East. Mark, however, stayed behind to pursue studies at the University of Western Ontario.
It was during his time in Canada when the hateful stereotypes that Halawa grew up with against Jewish people and Israel began to fall apart. “In Kuwait, when I would go with my grandfather to the mosque, the imam always preached horrible things against Jews. The media, scouts, everything around me was against Israel and the Jewish nation.”
But the moment that marked Halawa’s official shift took place during a chance meeting with a Jewish rabbi at his university’s library in Ontario. “I was studying in the library one day and I saw a man dressed in Jewish Hassidic garb. “I went up to him, and asked him, are you Jewish?”
Halawa’s Jewish grandmother was born in Jerusalem during the years of the British Mandate in the 1930s. She had married a Jordanian soldier, Muhammad al-Masri from Nablus, and converted to Islam. The couple moved to Zarqa, Jordan, where her husband was eventually stationed. When King Hussein expelled his army of Palestinians following the 1970 Black September uprising, the family moved to Kuwait, where Halawa’s mother met and married his father.

How Does A Homeless Man Spend $100 ?
From the Uplaoder: I wasn't expecting to get this kind of footage... to be honest, I thought this video would be more an exposing homeless people video at first. But I'm so glad that I could witness and capture such a beautiful moment. This has to be one of the most amazing experience so far on this channel. I did not only just help a homeless man, but I actually met an incredible human being and a friend. We were following him for a couple miles for almost an hour or so. Later that day we took him out to eat and got him a hotel to stay. The more I talk to him, the more I sense how genuine he is.... I gave him my number and told him to call me when he needs help. This again proof that not all the homeless people are bad people.

Commercial Planes Perform Stunning Formation
Pilots fly five passenger A350 planes in spectacular formation to perform tricks worthy of a fighter jet
To celebrate the delivery of the new Airbus A350s to commercial airline companies, five of the planes took to the sky for a spectacular formation flight. Manoeuvring more like fighter jets, the Airbus' performed a diamond formation, a low pass, an echelon formation and finally the arrow in the skies above Toulouse, France. After meticulous planning, run-throughs with pilots and ground staff, and many question and answer sessions, the planes put on a memorable display.

Ostrich Takes To The Highway
Unable to take to the skies, an ostrich ran away from its owner along a highway.
It's not every day you see an ostrich trying to race a truck on a motorway but that's exactly what stunned motorists came across in China's east. Surveillance video footage has captured the two-metre-tall bird walking through a toll gate onto the motorway in the Zhejiang Province. The ostrich was found by police hours later and was pushed towards the highway exit, which disrupted the traffic. However, their efforts were undone when the ostrich started to chase a passing truck. Unsurprisingly, it was no match for the vehicle and had to stop and rest for a while before walking out of the highway itself.

Reporter Gets High While Reporting On Burning Drugs
An embarrassed BBC reporter struggled to finish his broadcast as he got high after getting too close to a stack of burning drugs. The video shows the reporter Quentin Sommerville standing next to a huge pile of heroin, opium and hashish, but as he tries to begin his report he can't help but giggle.
He starts the report - filmed at some point in the last 12 months in the Middle East - by saying: ‘Burning behind me is eight and a half tonnes of heroin, opium, hashish and other narcotics.’ The reporter attempts to start his next line but lets out a tiny giggle, setting the cameraman off and both burst out laughing.
He then urges the cameraman to 'come on' and try another take, but this time he struggles to get out the whole sentence, managing just 'burning behind me'. And the longer they stand there the harder it becomes as they both fall into fits of a laughter. 'Ssh, quick, we just need one more,' he tells the camera man
In the final take Mr Sommerville just places his head in his hands, as he realises he can't manage the broadcast without becoming hysterical.

Cyclist Cheats Death When Run Over By 14 Wheel Truck
A cyclist has cheated death after being hit by 14-wheel truck when he rolled down under it on Wednesday in the city of Ningbo, east China's Zhejiang Province. Surveillance video footage shows a container semi-trailer turning right at a crossroad, colliding with a cyclist.
The cyclist is then seen being forced off his bike, ending up under
the truck. He miraculously avoids being run over by the vehicle tires.
After the truck drives on without stopping, the man appears sitting up.
Emergency service workers treated him on the scene and found he suffered only minor skin bruises.
The local traffic police attributed the cause of the near-fatal incident to the driver, who failed to notice the presence of the cyclist in the blind area when he was turning right.

Heroic Monkey Resuscitate Electrocuted Friend
Commuters in the northern Indian city of Anpur have bore witness to amazing events on Saturday as a monkey saved the life of its companion.
The monkey fell from electrified wires above the tracks after a shock rendered it unconscious.
For 20 minutes it attempted to wake its compatriot, striking and biting it before dragging it to a nearby puddle. The submergence was sufficient to wake the comatose primate who sat bewildered but nonetheless alive alongside its champion. The touching scenes belie a more serious problem of habitat destruction due to human expansion across the subcontinent.
While seen as a nuisance to some, conservationists condemn deforestation which forces monkeys to enter towns and cities in search of food and shelter.

Jumper Ties 90 Balloons To Chair, Floats 8,000 Feet
Renowned skier and BASE Jumper Erik Roner, excitement is nothing less than being airlifted in a lawn chair by 90 balloons and shooting his way down with a shot gun.
Erik Roner, a professional skier and BASE jumper, accomplished something many of us partly thanks to the Disney movie “Up” have always dreamed of being able to do. Roner attached 90 helium balloons to a lawn chair and let himself float more than 7,000 feet into the air before he shot several of the balloons with a shot gun and fell back to Earth. At one point several thousand feet in the air, Roner says, “it really doesn’t get more peaceful than this.” While we imagine it’s quite peaceful, we’re not sure if we’d be able to relax knowing that the only thing between us and the ground was an old lawn chair.

It is worth noting that the proposal for the study of Daf Hayomi was made at that time by Rabbi Meir Shapiro, then Rav of Sanok, Poland, and future Rosh Yeshiva of Yeshivas Chachmei Lublin and the resolution was adopted Rabbi Shapiro viewed the program as a way to unify the Jewish people. As he explained to the Congress delegates:

Dinner Party With 13 Dogs and One Cat
The pet food company "Freshpet" got 13 dogs and one cat together at the holiday table to enjoy a hilariously cute feast.
The animals got dressed in festive attire and were told to be on their best behavior. But just like what happens at many human family holiday dinners, some of the pets got a little out of control. The obvious teen of the group was caught playing on his cell phone. Another teen doggie decided the dinner table was a good place to reapply makeup. Grandpa doggie had a little too much wine. And then there's the inappropriate mistletoe, that aunt who likes to steal silverware and dear old dad (the cat in this case) who is clearly not amused with everyone else.
