An 89-year-old Philadelphia man has been ordered held without bail on a German arrest warrant charging him with aiding and abetting the killing of 216,000 Jewish men, women and children while he was a guard at the Auschwitz death camp.
The man, retired toolmaker Johann "Hans" Breyer, was taken into custody by U.S. authorities Tuesday. His attorney argued in court Wednesday that his client is too frail to be detained, but prosecutors say the detention center is equipped care for him.

Women Hatzalah Service 'Ezras Nashim' Serve Brooklyn
Women helping women in Brooklyn: an all-female crew of Orthodox Jewish emergency medical technicians hit the streets this week to provide a much-needed service in the community.
Rachel Freier says it was a struggle, but the all-women's Orthodox EMT corps is now a reality. Ezras Nashim EMT Service will cover Borough Park, Brooklyn. The idea was to serve Chasidic women who are uncomfortable with Chasidic male EMTs when they're in a physically vulnerable position such as child birth.
All of the women are certified EMTs as well as having other certifications. Member Melanie Kail is even a volunteer firefighter in Woodmere, Long Island.
The organization also has what they call a fly car. Some women don't have cars so if you're the EMT who is on call you get a car equipped with an air horn and lights. The EMT can drive to the emergency to meet up with a private ambulance company that Ezras Nashim has a contract with to transport patients.
So far, this all-female Orthodox EMT corps has about 40 medics. It hopes to expand to other towns, cities, and even Israel.

Last week, Israeli child prodigy Uziya Tzadok along with his producer David Fadida, were guests at the home of Reb Shlomo Yehuda Rechnitz, while on tour to the city of Los Angeles. When the bitter and tragic news arrived regarding the abduction of three boys from Gush Etzion - Naftali Frenkel, Gilad Shaar, and Eyal Yifrach - Rechnitz took to the piano and with tears composed and emotional tune to the Posuk of "שומר ישראל, שמור שארית ישראל ואל יאבד ישראל, האומרים שמע ישראל". A song of prayer and hope, asking Hashem to spare us from all evil and to say 'enough' to our troubles.
Rechnitz: "At such a moment of crisis, I turned, for a moment, from all my work and I went to compose a song that will unite all the people of Israel, that will be a bridge to the heart of each and every one of us and strengthen the families in this time of distress. May the song soon turn into a song of thanksgiving when we will hear the good news of their safe return home. In my opinion there is no one more appropriate to sing this song other than Uziya Tzadok. He is also part of the "Dati Le'umi" community, and just like the kidnap victims, lives in the Shomron. "
Wonder-child Uziya Tzadok (pictured left), who is known for his unique and sweet voice stepped forward to record this moving song, with the musical arraignments written by the duo Eli Klein and Yitzy Berry.

Families Make First Joint Statement To The Press
The parents of kidnapped teenagers Naftali Frenkel, Gilad Sha'ar, and Eyal Yifrah made a joint statement to the press Tuesday, after the first meeting of the three families since the boys were abducted Thursday night by Hamas terrorists.
''We met today for the first time, the Yifrahs - Eyal's parents, the Sha'ars - Gilad's parents and the Frenkels - Naftali's parents," the families said, in a joint statement. "The meeting was very significant and important for us, we have met good people here and we are confident in the strength of the Creator of the Universe [to bring the boys home]."
''We want to give our support for the security forces, who are working day and night to find the boys, the decision-makers, and the Prime Minister, who has been in constant contact with us," they continued. "We pray that our soldiers will be safe and bring home our boys unharmed, and we are grateful to all those involved in this tremendous effort."
''We feel a huge hug from the people of Israel, who accompanies us every hour - this strengthens us very much," they concluded. "Please keep praying and doing good deeds."
