It might seem like the person steering this ferry doesn’t know what they’re doing, but then you don’t need to take much care with a vessel no longer fit for purpose. The M/F Ostend Spirit, also known as the MS Pride of Calais, met a rather undignified end when it was intentionally run aground at a European breakers yard. The ferry is intentionally beached because it is easier to demolish a vessel when it is on dry land.
For more than 20 years the ferry went back and forth across the English Channel before its final journey to a scrap yard in Aliaga, Turkey. The ship had been taken apart and recycled.
