Guy Gets A Hug From His Lion

Heart-stopping footage shows a fully grown lioness lunging at a man - but rather than ending in tragedy that could rip him to shreds without much effort, the pair embrace in an affectionate hug

Teacher John Hawkins recorded this unique footage while visiting the Modisa Wildlife Project in Botswana. Mr Gruener enjoys a close bond with some lions there and Sirga can be seen in the video giving Mr Hawkins a giant hug. As he opens the gate to the lion's enclosure, the big cat leaps out and jumps into his arms.

Despite the animal being of almost equal height to him, Mr Hawkins appears unafraid and allows his large feline friend to snuggle up to him.
