A Jewish boy who hid from the Nazis in a haystack was reunited in New York after 70 years Wednesday November 27 2013. with the Polish son whose parents risked everything to save him,

Beaming American Holocaust survivor Leon Gersten, 79, embraced and clasped the hand of a visibly moved Czeslaw Polziec, 81, whose Polish parents saved five Jews during World War II.  Gersten, accompanied by his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren welcomed Polziec after his flight before a battery of cameras at New York's JFK airport.  It was an emotional moment for two elderly men who parted as 10 and 11 year olds in 1944 as the Russians liberated their village.

A southern New Jersey police officer braved heat and blinding smoke to pull an unconscious driver from a pickup truck that had burst into flames.

Cape May Officer Scott Krissinger’s dashboard camera showed him sprinting toward the pickup Monday night and pulling out the driver as the vehicle was engulfed in flames and smoke. It also showed him going back a second time to make sure there are no passengers

Hasidic Group Lev Tahor Under Investigation

Members of the Lev Tahor Hasidic community of about 200 people -- about half of them children were under investigation by social services in Quebec for a host of issues including hygiene, children's health and allegations that the children weren't learning according the Quebec curriculum.

The community denies any mistreatment of the children, but left Quebec a little more than a week ago and ended up settling in southwestern Ontario.

Boy 13, Charged In 'Knockout' Of Jewish Boy In CH

A 13-year-old boy has been released into his mother's custody after being charged in connection with an attack on a 12-year-old Crown Heights Jewish boy.  The 12-year-old Yeshiva student believes he was a victim of the so-called "knockout game," a violent phenomenon sweeping the country in which youths sucker-punch unsuspecting strangers for kicks.

Helbrans Cult Speaks Out For The First Time

For the first time you can get a look inside the Notorious Hasidic fundamentalist group, Lev Tahor located in Canada

Most of the 200 members of a fundamentalist Jewish group – described by critics as cult-like and sometimes referred to as the “Jewish Taliban” – are living in Windsor and Chatham after leaving Quebec amid a high-profile child protection investigation. The group, called Lev Tahor, left their homes in Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts, Que. last week on three rented buses in the middle of the night.

Nachman Helbrans the oldest son of Rabbi Shlomo Helbrans explains they did not run away from the investigation, but instead felt it was the best move for the entire community, as he felt staying in Quebec would eventually mean the group would need to compromise their religious beliefs

Helbrans said the community cooperated completely with the investigation started months ago that was brought about by youth protection services. He continued to explain that no abuse or neglect was reported by youth protection services in Quebec and that the only problem was the group’s challenge of the education system. Helbrans says they chose to move to Ontario because the lenient education regulations will allow their community to homeschool the children easier.

Satmars Celebrate Kuf Alef Kislev 5754

The 21st day of Kislev is celebrated annual by Satmar chasidim worldwide as the day R' Yoel Teitelbaum Zt'l the founder of Satmar Chasidis in America, escaped from Hungary and this year marks the 69th anniversary of the Grand Rebbe's escape from the Nazis.

Rav Teitelbaum was among over 1600 people who were transported out of Hungary by train due to the efforts of Rudolf Kastner, one of the leaders of Budapest's Vaadat Ezra V'Hatzalah, who brokered a deal with Adolph Eichmann to let the passengers leave in exchange for a large sum of money, diamonds and gold. While Eichmann reneged on the deal and had the train sent to Bergen Belsen, the train was finally released after four months of negotiations and the passengers finally obtained their freedom when they arrived in Switzerland.

The annual gathering also serves as a dinner and the main fundraising event for the Satmar school system in Brooklyn, which currently has an enrollment of over 13,000 children in their yeshiva and schools and according to reports in the press owns properties valued at over $500 Million throughout the state of New York.

Iran & World Powers Reach Historic Nuclear Deal

Iran and six major powers agreed early Sunday November 24 2013 on a historic deal that freezes key parts of Iran’s nuclear program in exchange for temporary relief on some economic sanctions. The agreement, sealed at a 3 a.m. signing ceremony in Geneva’s Palace of Nations, requires Iran to halt or scale back parts of its nuclear infrastructure, the first such pause in more than a decade.

The deal, announced by European Union policy chief Catherine Ashton, is a first step towards resolving a decade-old stand-off between Tehran and the West. The agreement between the Islamic state and the US, Britain, France, Germany, China and Russia was nailed down after more than four days of negotiations in Geneva.  US President Barack Obama said it was an important first step towards a comprehensive solution to Iran's nuclear program
