Yaakov Shwekey & Boruch Levine Dedicate Song to Child
Just over two weeks ago there was an accident involving a two year old boy from Clifton, NJ. He was R"L crushed by a car and still struggles for health and life. On Sunday night there was a concert by Yaakov Shwekey in Queens, NY and he spoke about the story and sang a special song for the child.
Please Daven for a Refuah Shlaima for Refoel Yoel Ozer Ben Chaya Malka.
Here is the latest update from Yoel's mother:
"We are in the hospital with Yoel. They are slowly taking him off the sedation. He began moving his hands and toes. He tries to make sounds with his mouth. The doctor is hopeful but we have a long road ahead. He needs 6-12 months of being in a special pediatric rehab hospital. He will need surgeries to fix the crack in his skull and his face bones are in a hundred pieces. We just hope that everyone can Daven for him. I also wanted to know if you could pass along the Tzdaka that is near and dear to our family The Special Children’s Center. If anyone would like to give Tzdaka for Refoel Yoel Ozer to have a full Refuah, we would be so happy. Please see their website www.thecenternj.org or mail to SCC 1400 Prospect Street – Lakewood, NJ 08701. Please put on memo of check for Refuah for Refoel Yoel Ozer.
Thank you so much, everyone! We are taking it one hour at a time.
Michelle"

Bar Mitzvah Boy's Rap Invite Goes Viral
Daniel Blumen wants to welcome you to Atlanta. The soon to be 13 year old and his family have put together a charming rap video to say as much.
Daniel’s Bar Mitzvah is set for this coming May and instead of making up a slew of cards to mail out, the family decided to do something a little more creative. Throughout, Daniel is shown hanging with Mayor Kasim Reed, “talking much smack with Shaq and Barkley,” DJing with Frank Ski, and even Ne-Yo makes an appearance.
The video features shots from all the Atlanta hot spots like Turner Field, World of Coca-Cola, the TNT studios, and Fernbank Museum of Natural History. Most of Daniel’s (or D Mazel Tov’s) lyrics are Bar Mitzvah themed – “Just read from the Torah…and when it’s finished, you know I’m not a kid anymore-ah.” “We wanted to do something kind of fun to get people excited [about the Bar Mitzvah],” Liz Price, Daniel’s mother, told ABC News. Price said the inspiration came from seeing a New York friend’s own Save the Date video.
Price said Daniel familiarized himself with the song and began writing the lyrics with a little help from the family’s Bar Mitzvah DJ, DJ Keith. Most of the footage around town was shot all in one day and all the production was handled by Gabi Chennisi, Brenden Duncombe-Smith, and DJ Keith.
When asked how the family managed to pull together the impressive cast of celebrities they got for the video, Price said that it “all happened through friends of friends.”
Daniel will turn 13 on Friday, May 10, but he’s hoping friends and family can make his Saturday “Bar Mitzvah day” where the “party won’t stop till Sunday mornin’.”

Crown Heights Dad Cuts Coupons To Help Yeshiva
Crown Heights dad Nechemia Newman found a very clever, but labor-intensive, way to help his community — discarded box top coupons.“We’re talking truckloads, literally. Each bag holds hundreds and we’re talking about 75,000 of them. It was real work over time,” Newman said.Trying to help his son’s Yeshiva and four other private schools around Brooklyn make repairs, Newman turned to the square clip-outs. A tedious, yes, full proof way to bring in some extra cash for education.
At least, that’s what he thought.“I believe they were supposed to send out a check in December,” Newman said. “On the website they had already shown that they weren’t going to give the schools that money. That’s when we got in contact with them, but they kept saying they were looking into it.”But “looking into it” is all the makers of these Scott bath tissues have done since Newman was able to get teams of parents and his family to help cut out the coupons. He says what should have equaled out to tens of thousands of dollars has instead turned in to a community scandal of David and Goliath proportions.Meanwhile, spokesmen of the company have gone on record saying they are taking this time to figure out if the coupons were gathered correctly

In a Film - A Story of The Ba'al Shem Tov
In the 1700s (Ukraine) Rabbi Yisroel ben Eliezer (often called Baal Shem Tov) took interest in one of his follower’s sons named Shaul. One morning while taking Shaul home to his father in a sleigh, Rabbi Yisroel ben Eliezer accompanied by the sleigh driver and students passed and inn where some drunken peasants were having a good time. To everyone’s surprised the Rabbi gave an order to turn around and stop at the inn. Once in the inn the Rabbi instructed little Shaul to sing for the peasants. After the song, all of the peasants were moved by Shaul’s nice voice. There were among the group three little peasant boys around the age of Shaul. They (through the Rabbi’s instruction) introduced themselves to Shaul. The Rabbi told them to always be nice to Shaul.
Years later, little Shaul had grown up and had a family of his own. One night he was riding a horse through the woods on the way home when three bandits made a plan to attack him with knives and hatchets. They seized Shaul and tied him to a tree. While looting through Shaul’s bag the bandits decided to take Shaul’s life. Shaul thought that at best, he wanted to die with a song on his lips –so he sung with all his heart and soul the same song he had song years earlier at the inn.
Suddenly, while singing he noticed the bandits were in bewilderment. Shaul took another look at them and it suddenly occurred to him that these bandits were the same three little boys that he had sung to years earlier and were now all grown up. The next moment the three bandits fell on their knees before Shaul asking to be forgiven. They set Shaul free and promise to never to rob again. As Shaul rode home it became clear why the Rabbi (the Baal Shem Tov) years earlier had stopped at the end and asked him to sing for the drunken peasants.
