Drunk Driver YouTube Confesser Sentenced to 6 ½ Years

A judge in Ohio just sentenced Matthew Cordle to six and a half years in prison. The 22-year-old gained national attention earlier this year when he confessed on YouTube to killing a man while driving drunk. The video has since been viewed more than 2.3 million times.

During the sentencing, the judge read a letter from the former spouse of 61-year-old victim Vincent Canzani. In that letter, she said that her former husband would not want to see two lives lost in this incident and that Matthew shouldn’t receive the maximum penalty.
