VINNEWS- Some Jewish community leaders from across Williamsburg endorsed last Tuesday former City Comptroller Bill Thompson as their Democratic candidate for NYC mayor.
The leaders praised Thompson's plan to reduce poverty across all five boroughs and create economic opportunity for vulnerable New Yorkers. They spoke about his record of helping to build 43,000 units of affordable housing as Comptroller and his plans to build and preserve 120,000 units of affordable housing over the next 10 years as Mayor.
In their endorsement, the leaders touted Thompson's honesty, truthfulness, fairness, and record of working for poor and large families.
Claiming eight Thousand block vote, Rabbi David Niederman who is affiliated with the Satmar faction of the Zalmenites lead the endorsement, The Satmar Group belonging to the Aronites have not yet publicly announced who they will endorse.
