A Republican lawmaker from Duncan, Oklahoma has apologized for a derogatory remark he made toward Jewish people while debating a bill on the Oklahoma
State House floor During debate on Wednesday, Rep. Dennis Johnson used
the word “Jew” in the context of negotiating a lower price for an item.
After several legislators remarked on his comment, Johnson apologized on
the floor. He says he later apologized to the Speaker of the House and
offered to deliver an apology on the floor.The 59-year-old told
reporters afterward that the term was something he heard frequently as a
youngster and that the comment “was just something that came out from
the wrinkles of my brain.
