An investigative reporter for local Atlanta CBS affiliate WGCL got
more than he bargained for this week when he went into the field to find
a business man who had been charged with stealing customers’ tax
refunds.
Reporter Jeff Chirico encountered the father of the
man he was attempting to investigate, who was not very welcoming of the
local news team. The elderly man grabbed Chirico by the collar and made a
fist, saying “it only costs 35 bucks to bust this man in the mouth.” When Chirico tried to enter the man’s property, he found himself
getting punched in the face and falling to the ground. The man came
after him again, warning, “Don’t you dare attempted to go in my
business. Chirico, who was not seriously injured, said he would be calling the
police “and you’ll be arrested for assault” before the man threatened to
punch him again.
