In response to incessant rocket attacks from the Gaza Strip, the IDF has launched a widespread campaign against terror targets in Gaza. The operation, called Pillar of Defense, has two main goals: to protect Israeli civilians and to cripple the terrorist infrastructure in Gaza.

The Arabic leaflet reads: "Important announcement for the residents of the Gaza Strip: For your own safety, take responsibility for yourselves and avoid being present in the vicinity of Hamas operatives and facilities and those of other terror organizations that pose a risk to your safety. Hamas is once again dragging the region to violence and bloodshed. The IDF is determined to defend the residents of the State of Israel. This announcement is valid until quiet is restored to the region. Israel Defense Forces Command.

The IDF does its utmost to avoid civilian casualties when striking back against the Hamas terror organization: placing recorded telephone calls, dropping warning leaflets and even diverting missiles mid-flight if civilians are spotted in the line of fire.

Overnight, the IDF targeted approximately 100 medium and long range rocket launch and infrastructure sites across the Gaza Strip. This has significantly damaged the rocket launch capabilities and munitions warehouses operated by Hamas and other terror organizations.

Terrorists from the Al-Quds Brigades, a radical Jihadist group operating from the Gaza Strip, are firing rockets at Israel from within urban living areas in Gaza. The video, uploaded only yesterday to the official Al-Quds channel, asserts the repeated and unapologetic use of the "human shield" tactics by terror organizations operating from Gaza.

By operating from densely populated areas, these terrorists willingly endanger the innocent civilians living around them. As seen in the video -- regular living areas, like a park surrounded by apartments, all become terror sites. Imagine raising your children in a neighborhood where terrorists shoot rockets from the local playground.
