Tragedy In Boro Park: Toddler Drowns In Toilet

A 1-year-old Monsey, NY boy drowned to death in a toilet authorities said. The body of little Mendi Altman was found by his 13-year-old brother at an aunt’s 11th Ave. home in Borough Park late Monday night. Police sources said the accident happened after everyone had gone to sleep for the night. a spokeswoman for the New York City Medical Examiner said the child had died from drowning and ruled the death an accident. The tragic tot’s family was visiting his mother’s sister from Monsey and her family for the Jewish holiday of Rosh Hashanah. Mendi was one of seven siblings.
