Clashes Continue In Beit Shemesh

Hundreds of Extremist Charedim rioted and torched trash cans in Beit Shemesh on Thursday night. Police forces that arrived on the scene made efforts to disperse the crowd but were met with resistance from residents, who stoned the officers and blocked roads. Three people were arrested.

Beit Shemesh turned into the epicenter of the turmoil over hostility directed at women in ultra-Orthodox neighborhoods after media outlets reported that the seven-year-old Na'ama Margolis was harassed by extremist charedim on her way to school. The attackers spat on the girl and yelled insults at her for not being dressed "modestly enough" in their opinion.

As disgusting as the charedim extrimist behavior is, they are free to believe what they want. But they're not free to assault others and riot in the streets. They should be arrested for assault and rioting, not some invented crime of exclusion of women. That will never hold up in court.

What's fascinating is that in Chareidi mythology it's the seculars who are the barbarians while they are the beacons of civilization while in real life it's clearly the opposite.

I am a bit confused by the previous comments. While I have NO SYMPATHY at all for those spitting and being violent, all I can see in this clip is POLICE BRUTALITY! Those screaming are not being pleasant, but I see no violence on their part (even some restraint). The police are the only ones physically attacking and being violent. Am I missing something here?
