Schalit in Egypt as Israel Begins Prisoner Transfer

Vehicles carrying Palestinian prisoners depart from Israeli jails, setting in motion Schalit-prisoner swap; 96 prisoners taken from Ktziot facility; Schalit to cross via Rafa.

Captured Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit, according to Palestinian reports, is now in Egypt, and the first groups of Palestinian prisoners are being released from Israeli jails early Tuesday in a historic prisoner swap between Israel and Hamas.

Australian Jews relate their opinion on the Israeli government's controversial agreement of releasing more than 1000 prisoners in exchange for Gilad Shalit.

The problem with basing our opinion on the imagination and comparison of Gilad being our own son, in my opinion, includes two mistakes. Number 1: You might as well compare yourself to a family member of one of the hundreds of Jewish victims HY"D murdered by these very terrorist who are now to be released. Number 2, comparing oneself to Gilad's family, only adds to the emotional aspect of the matter, not objective thinking. Emotionally, we all want Gilad back, no matter what the price would be. The question here is not if the Jewish heart agrees with this, but if the Jewish brain does, is this the right decision mentally or morally.
