On Friday, as thousands watched in horror, the World War II-era plane P-51 Mustang suddenly pitched upward, rolled and nose-dived toward the crowded grandstand. It then slammed into the tarmac and blew to pieces in front the pilot's family and a tight-knit group of friends who attend the annual event. The death toll in the crash rose to nine people Saturday as investigators combed through wreckage and scoured video clips and photographs to determine why the aircraft suddenly spiraled out of control and plummeted to the ground near hundreds of spectators.

So, you take an 80 year-old pilot and put him in a 60 year old fighter with a 1500 horsepower engine and have him fly as fast as he can 100 feet from the ground close to a grandstand full of people and !!!!
