Daring Rescue on Brooklyn Bridge

A emotionally disturbed young man who was dangling from the Brooklyn Bridge was pulled to safety by police officers Sunday afternoon May 29 2011, As scores of people watched from the pedestrian walkway, from the street below and from cars on the bridge that had been halted during the rescue.

I was walking on the Brooklyn Bridge yesterday when they rescued that would-be jumper ! Unbelievable number of rescue vehicles and workers.

Given that he was going to jump near the exit ramp, into a construction parking lot, and not into the river, it didn't look like the fall would've killed him.

It's always sad to see when someone feels so low that the only way out is by removing themselves from this world. We need to remember suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. Besides no one escapes their destany no matter what they do.
