A Song About the Maos Chitim Project

A song by Nissen Brenenson to an old familiar tune, introduces a mega project in honor of Yud Aleph Nissan, the Lubavitcher Rebbe's 110th birthday. Boys and girls will raise money for Maos Chitim for each line of Tanya they learn by-heart.

Via ColLive.com - Tzivos Hashem "Chayolim" are teaming up to give the Rebbe an incredible and unique gift - learn tens of thousands of lines of Tanya and Mishnayos Baal Peh and raise funds for Maos Chitim.

41 Chabad schools from around the world signed up for a mega Yud Aleph Nissan project marking the Rebbe's 110th birthday and dedicated in memory of Nosson Deitsch OBM, a bochur known for his love for learning.

"Nosson truly was a model bochur whose tremendous Ahavas Yisroel reached out to all those who knew him," Rabbi Shimmy Weinbaum of Tzivos Hashem told COLlive.com.

"Nosson learned and continued to review all 53 prokim of Likutei Amorim by heart until his passing last year on Lag BaOmer, and throughout his life inspired others to do the same."

Boys and girls will be learning lines of Torah by heart in blocks of 110. Lubavitch Educational Center of Florida, for example, is pledging 48x110 lines of Tanya - a total of 5280 lines of Tanya. Bnos Menachem of Crown Heights is learning 59x110 lines of Tanya, totaling 6490.

In addition, "chayolim" will be asking family and neighbors to donate a dollar for each line they learn by heart with the proceeds going to local Maos Chitim funds helping the poor for Pesach. Crown Heights money, for example, will be going to Chevra Simchas Shabbos V'Yom Tov (CSSY).

There are 2,000 chayolim participating and the goal is to raise $36,000.

"If one of the chayolim call you, please remember how much the Rebbe always spoke about the importance of Maos chitim and give whatever you can," Weinbaum said.
