An organization called Yizkereim: Remember Them has launched a rallying call of an historic initiative, they have produced an acclaimed series of inspiring films that document facets of the Holocaust not previously highlighted; stories of spiritual survival and resistance which culminated in the post-Churban rebuilding of Torah communities worldwide.
Shanghai Miracle, the first in a series, details the inspirational story of the hundreds of Yeshiva students who escaped to Shanghai, China and lived to rebuild Torah throughout the world. Between 1937 and 1941, Shanghais open-port allowed over 20,000 European Jews seeking refuge from Nazi Germany. During this period, more Jews found sanctuary in China than in any other country in the world.
