Mivtzah Tefillin at the Salute to Israel Parade
From the author: "During the Salute to Israel Day Parade, a group of Orthodox Jews invited men to put on a Tefelin and make a mitzvah for the safety of Israel.
The Tefelin is a pair of black leather boxes containing scrolls of parchment inscribed with verses from the Bible.
I was offered to do the same, but had to decline, since I'm not Jewish."

OBAMA: IRAN HAS RIGHT TO NUCLEAR POWER

LONDON -- President Barack Obama reiterated that Iran may have some right to nuclear energy _ provided it takes steps to prove its aspirations are peaceful.
In a BBC interview broadcast Tuesday, Obama also restated plans to pursue direct diplomacy with Tehran to encourage it to set aside any ambitions for nuclear weapons it might harbor.
Iran has insisted its nuclear program is aimed at generating electricity. But the U.S. and other Western governments accuse Tehran of seeking atomic weapons.
"Without going into specifics, what I do believe is that Iran has legitimate energy concerns, legitimate aspirations. On the other hand, the international community has a very real interest in preventing a nuclear arms race in the region," Obama said. Click here for the the full article.

Border Police attacking Knesset Member Michael Ben-Ari (Eretz Yisrael Shelanu-National Union) Monday afternoon after he demanded an explanation of why they were arresting minors and not allowing him to examine their condition. Ben Ari repeatedly told the soldiers that he is a Knesset member and is immune by law. The MK was hospitalized for light injuries.
The video shows the MK jumping on the hood of a Border Police jeep and agreeing to step down only after an officer would explain why police handcuffed juveniles and arrested them. No one stepped forward to explain.
Security officials said that Ben-Ari was interfering with arrests as police broke up a protest against the expulsion of Jews from hilltop communities and subsequent demolitions.

Boy Struck in Crown Heights
Thursday, Erev Shevuos, a young boy was struck by a car on the corner of Kingston Ave and Crown St.
Boruch Hashem the boy only suffered from some minor leg injuries and was transported to the hospital for some checkups.
