Moment Magazine misquotes Rabbi Manis Freidman and says he said "the only way to fight a moral war is the Jewish way: to destroy their holy sites. Kill men, women and children."
Rabbi Freidman later explained that his words were taken out of context for the question he was responding to was "how should we act in time of war, when our neighbors attack us, using their women, children and religious holy places as shields." Click here for the Rabbi's response.

moment amg edited rabbi friedman's quote and MADE IT sound vicious. its disturbing that most rabbis didnt do any research into this but rather they distanced themselves from friedman. they shouldve made clear that obviously he wouldnt say something like this and it must be a misquote.
What can we say??? The media is the biggest Loson Horo. R' Friedman i think now learned the lessons, be aware with goyishe media
the blowup was in very large part due to the silence of most other rabbis. not the media.
Enjoy your site, but you got this all wrong. Moment didn't "misquote" Rabbi Friedman, and Rabbi Friedman never accuses Moment of doing so. He wrote what he did in response to the question Moment posed and Moment published it. Rabbi Friedman himself says that his statement, "as written," was misleading. In other words, if people were mislead by what he wrote, it is his own fault. He acted stupidly, and you didn't do your research.
