Jewish MLB Pitcher's Wife Tragically Dies

The Wife of Major League Baseball's Arizona Diamondbacks' pitcher Scott Schoeneweis was found dead today at their Fountain Hills home. According to reports their fourteen-year-old daughter found Gabrielle Dawn Schoeneweis on the floor of their master bedroom. After paramedics arrived at the scene she was unresponsive and later pronounced dead. The cause of death is undetermined and an investigation is currently ongoing. Team officials said Scott left the team in Miami for a family emergency.


Their son attended Camp Gan Israel of Greenwich, a summer program for Jewish children, two years ago.

While playing for the New York Mets and living in Greenwich, Connecticut, pitcher Scott Schoeneweis had his his son Hudson attend the Camp Gan Israel of Greenwich. The lefty reliever himself paid a visit to the Chabad camp where he taught the young camopers of CGI, lessons about baseball and sportsmanship, two years ago. Click here to read that full report.
