Suddenly The Rebbe Began Speaking About Pidyon Shvuyim

On 28 MarCheshvan, 5750, the Lubavithcer Rebbe was in the middle of delivering a Sicha in honor of the Shluchim during the annual Shluchim Convention. Suddenly the Rebbe started speaking about the importance of the Mitzvah of Pidyon Shvuyim, freeing and redeeming the captive. The Rebbe spoke how when you have Jews under the total control of (these) non-Jews, it is utmost important to act with swiftness (Zrizus) to rescue them from there. For since he is not under his own power and authority there is no way to foresee or imagine what will occur in the last moments, and if they then will be able to repair it.

Exactly 19 years later on that very same day there were six Jewish hostages being held captive at the Chabad House in Mumbai, a structure representing the Rebbe himself. And two of the Jews held captive there where his personal emissaries and his messengers.

Here is the audio of the Sicha.
