Yeshiva of Lubin

The Nazis burned our books, but could not extinguish our souls.
Rabbi Yaakov Salomon visited Poland with other Aish educators, led by Rabbi Noah Weinberg. He visited the sites of the destroyed Jewish communities and the Nazi concentration camps. Along the way, he gives us something important to think about. This is the fifth of an eight-part series.

I heard that the Jews got back the building and where planning on reopening a Yeshiva there. Can anyone confirm?

I was there three times in the past three years. The building has been returned to the Jewish community, and is undergoing extensive repairs and restoration. Form a dusty and delapidated building, it is turning into a glorious and stunning edifice. Of course, ten miles up the road is the death camp "Majdanek", the biggest hell-hole on earth.

My husband,sis-inlaw & bro-inlaw & I were there in 1999.We couldn't believe we were standing in Yeshivas Chachmei Lublin!! We also signed our name in a guest book.I'm glad the building is going back to it's rightful owners!
