Henny Karniel is a veteran educator living in Kfar Chabad, Israel. In 1975, as she was about to return to work after taking time off on maternity leave, she was approached with a particularly challenging job offer.
After the Lubavitcher Rebbe encouraged her to go ahead, she accepted the position. She saw immediate results, but it was only many years later that she found out what a big difference her efforts had made.

Gorillas Capture Baby Ducklings
The moment a gorilla terrifies people by grabbing a duckling, only to groom and cuddle it.
Footage shows an ape sitting and waiting for the ducks as they swim in a nearby pool in its enclosure at a zoo in Apeldoorn, the Netherlands. A few seconds later, a mother duck and her ducklings waddling out of the pool, leading the gorilla to run over, with another ape, and try to take one.
The second gorilla is successful, and manages to grab one ducking after the family jumped back into the pond. The gorilla spots another duckling which has been separated from its mother, and grabs that one too. Grasping them, he sniffs the tiny ducks and later returns to his seat, where he starts carefully grooming the two birds.

President Trump Meets with President Abbas
President Trump told Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas privately at the White House on Wednesday that a condition for Middle East peace must include the Palestinians halting their “pay for slay” policy of rewarding terrorists who attack Israelis.
In his first meeting with Mr. Abbas, Mr. Trump announced he is starting “a process” with Israel and the Palestinians to work toward a historically elusive peace agreement. The most recent talks fell apart in 2014 during the Obama administration.
“We’ll start a process which hopefully will lead to peace,” Mr. Trump said with Mr. Abbas at his side. “I would love to be a mediator, an arbitrator or a facilitator, and we will get this done.”
While Mr. Trump didn’t mention publicly the issue of Palestinians paying terrorists or their families for killing Israelis, White House aides said the president did confront Mr. Abbas about it behind closed doors.
“The president raised concerns about the payments to Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails who have committed acts of terrorism, and to their families, and emphasized the need to resolve this issue,” said White House press secretary Sean Spicer.

Kansas Officer Rescues 4-year-old from Pond
Officer says he was in the right place at the right time.
The Topeka Police Department in Kansas, released a body cam footage of the officer who jumped into a pond Monday to save an autistic 4-year-old child
The video footage Shows the Officer Aaron Bulmer searching for some people who involved in a fight in the area around SW 16th Street and SW Clay Street around 11:30 Sunday morning.
He spots the child next to the Central Park Community Center pond. As he gets out of his cruiser to talk to him, the kid slips in. Bulmer doesn't hesitate. He races over, jumps in, and pulls the child back to solid ground.
Emergency crews arrived at the scene and took the child to a local hospital to be checked out. The kid was then reunited with a parent who had been out searching for them at the time.
Police noted they later learned the child had been diagnosed with autism, adding that many children with autism are drawn to water.

Dramatic Dashcam Footage Shows Fiery Plane Crash
A driver in Washington state videotaped the scary scene of a plane clipping a power line before crashing across a busy intersection.
No one was seriously injured and the pilot walked away after the crash. However, the crash did damage several cars.
Investigators say that the plane took off from a nearby airport and, shortly afterward, began losing engine power. Unable to make it back to the airport, the pilot tried to land on a clear road when he clipped the power lines and a street light. The collision ruptured a fuel cell, causing the explosion that the video captured.

Ana Bekoach – Shira ft. Zanvil Weinberger
In a rare display of Shira’s pure vocal prowess unadulterated by instrumentalization, this acapella performance of Ana Bekoach is the ultimate treatment for the ears during the days of Sefirah.
Original melody handed down from Dzikover Rebbe, author of Ateres Yeshuah, Sung in the holy courtyard particularly in the days surrounding the festival of Shavuos
Performed live in ask-and-answer format between the Shira Choir and star soloist Zanvil Weinberger from Israel, the song takes the listener through three changes of pace that pay homage to this deeply inspiring composition.
As we all recite these lyrics in their original form daily throughout Sefirah, now is the perfect time to pay attention to the words and be uplifted by their beautiful meaning.

Composed: The Dzikov Rabbi Z"tl
Sung by Zanvil Weinberger & the Shira choir
