NBC 5's Jeff Smith from Fort Worth, Texas. wanted to start his live report on low lake levels with some action, but ended up stuck up to his knees in mud. Smith was planning to hop from a marina dock to the ground below, on what was once the lake bottom, but his legs sunk immediately into the mud.
Following some laughter from his photographer, Kevin Williams, Smith decided to stay in the mud -- at least for the next live report. After concluding that live report, Williams came to Smith's rescue, pulling him free from the grip of the mud. Other than suffering from embarrassment and continuous laughter from the newsroom, Smith, was uninjured.

Giant Sharks Caught Snacking Fisherman's Catch
Considered to be the gentle giants of the sea, whale sharks are not likely to eat you - but they could eat your catch. A remarkable set of pictures show a greedy whale shark scoffing a net full of fish while it is attached to the back of a fishing boat. The monster of the deep was captured circling the nets of a fisherman off the coast of Indonesia before lunging for the free meal and clamping its massive jaws down on the helpless prey.

Otterly Talented In a Jam Session
Zookeepers at the Smithsonian National Zoo wanted to give their family of whip smart small-clawed Asian otters something fun to do, but they had no idea what a blast the creatures would have when given a simple electronic keyboard. Cameras were rolling when the Washington, DC otters started their jam session and the results couldn't be more adorable. While the creatures, which are the smallest of the world's 13 otter species, are no marine mammal Mozarts, they really give it their all in a show of creative critter inspiration that many human toddlers would find themselves hard-pressed to match.

IDF Soldiers Liberate the Old City of Jerusalem 1967
In June 1967, Israel's soldiers overcame Arab troops and reached the Western Wall, the holiest place on earth and the ancient remnant of the Beis Hamikdosh. At that moment, the Old City of Jerusalem, under non-Jewish control for over 2,000 years, was once again in Jewish hands.
Under the 1947 UN Partition Plan, which proposed the establishment of two states in the British Mandate of Palestine—a Jewish state and an Arab state—Jerusalem was to be an international city, neither exclusively Arab nor Jewish for a period of ten years, at which point a referendum would be held by Jerusalem residents to determine which country to join. The Jewish leadership accepted the plan, including the internationalization of Jerusalem, but the Arabs rejected the proposal.
As soon as Israel declared its independence in 1948, it was attacked en masse by its Arab neighbours. Jordan took over east Jerusalem and the Old City. Israeli forces made a concerted attempt to dislodge them, but were unable to do so. By the end of the 1948 Arab-Israeli War Jerusalem was left divided between Israel and Jordan. The Old City and East Jerusalem continued to be occupied by Jordan, and the Jewish residents were forced out. Under Jordanian rule, half of the Old City's fifty-eight synagogues were demolished and the Jewish cemetery on the Mount of Olives was plundered for its tombstones, which were used as paving stones and building materials.
This state of affairs changed in 1967 as a result of the Six-Day War. Before the start of the war, Israel sent a message to King Hussein of Jordan saying that Israel would not attack Jerusalem or the West Bank as long as the Jordanian front remained quiet. Urged by Egyptian pressure and based on deceptive intelligence reports, Jordan began shelling civilian locations in Israel[9] to which Israel responded on June 6 by opening the eastern front. The following day, June 7, 1967 (28 Iyar 5727), Israel captured the Old City of Jerusalem.

The Mitzvah Motercycle
From the author: "So I was driving around and I saw a man trying to catch a bus which he just missed. I stopped and asked him if he wanted a lift to the next bus stop so he could catch the bus....
There's not much to the conversation: I ask the man if he wants to go with me, then he explains that the next bus would arrive in about 1 hour... and finally he thanks me very much for the help I gave him.
This is filmed in Brasov, Romania, with Drift HD Ghost and the "motorcycle" is actually a scooter: 2002 Honda Silverwing, 600cc."

Motorcycle Rider Lands On Feet After Car Crash
A motorcycle rider in Malaysia has been captured on CCTV crashing into a car before flipping over its roof and landing – neatly and easily – on his feet. In the footage, a car is seen performing a U-turn in a side street and onto a main road. As the car attempts to turn right, the rider comes from behind a stationary truck and slams right into the side of the car. But instead of falling backwards, the bike rider launches himself forward, flipping over the roof of the car and somehow, miraculously, landing on his feet.
