Children Say 'Good Shabbos' to their Parents in Jail

Jerusalem - Dozens of children dressed in Shabbos clothes gathered around the Ma'asiyahu prison compound in support of their parents who were taken into custody after yesterday's demonstrations.

Many of the children came bearing signs saying "Gut Shabbos, Abba", "Abba, is a ten year old allowed to make Kiddush?" and "Free Abba". While some children were seen wiping away tears, others carried freshly baked Challahs. Some even sang Zemiros and danced outside the prison walls.

And Your Name Is? - A Film Trailer

From the Author: Vandals are desecrating a Jewish cemetery in Brooklyn, N.Y. Enter Fayud, a young law student from Saudi Arabia. Blessed with a strong sense of decency, Fayud tries to intervene and is beaten unconscious.

Waking up in a hospital bed, Fayud sees the blurry image of what can only be a dream. Standing over him is the warm, smiling face of a fully bearded Rabbi. As Fayud's vision comes into focus, the strange reality hits home when the Rabbi asks, "How are you feeling, my friend?"

Years later in a Saudi village, Yasmeen trudges home in the oppressive heat. Visibly pregnant, she is confronted by her abusive husband, who issues a stunning ultimatum: "If the child is a girl, I want you to eliminate it!"

Back in Brooklyn, a young Chassidishe couple, Avraham and Gittel, are struggling to have a child. Visits to medical specialists and heartfelt prayers on Shabbat have failed to yield the results, which they so desperately desire. Little did anyone know that a chance meeting between their Rebbe and the young Arab law student so many years ago would prove so fortuitous today.

In the Talmud it is written:
If you save a life it is as if you have saved the world.

Inspired by true events, "AND YOUR NAME IS..." is a story about divine providence. How people from radically different cultures must ultimately put their faith in each other, in ethical values and above all, the gift of life.

VinNews - A North Carolina congressman is under fire after a video surfaced Monday showing him in a physical confrontation with a young man on a street in Washington. Rep. In a statement Monday, NRCC spokesman Jon Thompson said, “Bob Etheridge has lost it.

Special Moments with Rabbi Levitansky

Rabbi Avrohom Levitansky set off on Shlichus over 40 years ago. He established the ‘Bais Chabad of Simcha Monica’ in 1972 which was founded as one of ten Chabad institutions presented to the Lubavitcher Rebbe for his 70th birthday. Reb Avrohom was known for his genuine Yiras Shamaim and Chasidisher warmth. His entire body and soul was given over for the spreading of yiddishkiet; he lived it in his day to day life.

This video was shown at the Farbrengen for Rabbi Levitansky's OBM Third Yohrzeit. To help support the ongoing activities in his memory please log onto www.TheChabadnik.org.

Audio ~ Yaakov Shwekey at Age 7

Here is a recording of a young boy singing Yossi Green's, made famous by Avraham Fried's "Tanya." According the the website Bechadrei Chadarim, the young voice singing is of the chasidic singer Yaakov Shwekey when he was a child. They also claim that he is 7 years old at the time, i find that hard to believe. I'm also interested to know who the other kid doing the occasional harmony is.

It's amazing to hear, as a child matures and turns into an adult, although the voice changes, the style remains the same.
