Though its been many years since prolific composer Rav Shmuel Brazil has released any original music to the public, music is always a part of his life. For the first time in over a decade Rav Brazil is ready to release some original niggunim under a new brand, "Hakshivah." I am proud to present the first single from the project titled “Shofar Gadol.”
This project is named "Hakshivah" for it is my hope that these original nigunim will awaken every Yid to be an active participant in the blowing of his inner shofar from the depths of his neshamah connecting his to Moshiach's majestic Shofar Gadol.

Lyrics:
(Tehillim, 63)
Translation:
My soul cleaves to You, Your right hand upholds me.
So have I looked for You in the sanctuary,
to see Your power and Your glory.
My soul thirsts for You, my flesh longs for You.

Soloists: Reb Abish Brodt.

Oldie of the Week ~ Bilvavi - 1971
Presenting Old Jewish Musical Jewels (O.J.M.J) which because of their age are not very well known to the younger generation.
The song will first be posted here on the main page and remain for approximately a week on the right column above the three featured videos of the week.
The seventh song in this series features the original release of the beautiful and the not popular enough "Bilvavi" from The Ohr Chodosh, organized by Shmuel Brazil and Yossi Toiv AKA Country Yossi, released in 1971. Music by the Josh Goldberg Orchestra. Arranged and conducted by Josh Goldberg.
One of the soloists is Chaim Schertzer, a 13 year old chazan who had performed at Carnegie Hall, Town Hall, Town Hall of Philadelphia and City Center. He was a soloist in the Sterner Choir and was invited to sing as a guest chazan at various shuls in NY. He was a student at Eitz Chayim Yeshiva of Boro Park.

From the cover of the album:
"Our holy Rabbis explain that the Beis Hamikdash was an external symbol for the Beis Hamikdosh which every Jew is obligated to build within his own heart. Only if one's heart is a fortress of strength brimming with faith and self-sacrifice can one be propelled and elevated to carry out his divine purpose. Before the Beis Hamikdash can be once again established, we must first reconstruct the one in our own hearts".
Lyrics:
בלבבי משכן אבנה להדר כבודו, ובמשכן מזבח אשים לקרני הודו, ולנר תמיד אקח לי את אש העקידה, ולקרבן אקריב לו את נפשי, את נפשי היחידה
(Sefer Charedim)
English Translation:
In my heart i will erect a Mishkan
to glorify His honor
In the Mishkan i will place an alter
to acknowledge His splendor
And as the eternal light i will take to me
the fire of the Akaidah
And as a sacrifice i will bring forth my soul
my soul the Yechidah (the highest level of the soul)
Composed by: Rabbi Shmuel Brazil (pictured above right)
Soloist: Chaim Hilel Schertzer & Nachum Deutsch.
