Goldman Medley - Shvochim Ft. Yingerlich , Shira, Freilach

The term ‘an oldie but a goodie’ rightfully applies to virtually every single tune composed by the inimitable, unforgettable champion of Chassidish American music, R’ Moshe Goldman z”l. One of the most prolific composers of any generation, R' Moshe’s library of work illuminated the Jewish world with songs rich in soul and warmth, yet melodically accessible to all.

On Chol Hamoed Sukkos 5781, Shvochim held a concert event in Borough Park to commemorate this giant of Jewish song. Cascading waves of nostalgia washed over both the performers and the audience as old, cherished crowd-favorites spilled forth from the Yingerlach child choir, the Shira adult choir, and the Freilach band.

Ballad. March. Disco. Waltz. Swing. Folk. The genres kept coalescing, while not a beat was missed. We invite you to enjoy this short peek into that spellbinding event––and join in person next time!

MBC Nostalgia – Shira Ft. Avrumi Berko & Yingerlach

When history evaluates the song catalogs that shaped contemporary Jewish music, few will be treated with more reverence than that of legendary composer, conductor, trendsetter and vocal coach Yerachmiel Begun of Miami Boys Choir.

Over the course of 4 decades, he earned his reputation for defining the sound of modern neginah, and for creating a new standard in the potential of the young voice. Today, there is no one better to play homage to his great songbook than Shira Choir.

On February 2, 2020, family and guests at The Schwartz - Schwimmer wedding in Brooklyn were treated to the ultimate confluence of nostalgia and artistry, as the biggest names on the current music scene delivered a faithful, yet also critically original, Miami Boys Choir medley.

Celebrated arranger and keys virtuoso Avrumi Berko joined forces with Shira's leading taste-maker Yoely Horowitz to handpick some of the most harmonic and heartwarming songs in the MBC repertoire, covering the numerous genres the choir was famed for tackling.

All-time favorites included upbeat, relaxing, yearning, and anthemic choices. Each song, and the skillful transitions among them, was delivered with flawless grace by Shira's best voices—enriched and textured by the MBC-worthy Yingerlech children's choir. Conducted by the indefatigable, ever-talented Reb Shiya Rosen, Yingerlech produced both layered choir work and searing soloing.

Whether you listen for the voices or watch for the magnificent musicianship of Avrumi Berko Productions, enjoy, share, and repeat.

Shoshanas Yakov - Shira ft. Sababa & Yingerlech

When Brooklyn Jewry gathered for a special event to benefit Chesed of Williamsburg, they were treated to a spellbinding live performance of Shoshanas Yakov, a complex piece of kaleidoscopic musicality by the late, legendary composer R' Lipa Lajosh Z"L.

Watch as Shira’s skilled maneuvering meshes with the sweet, cherubic voices of the Yingerlech children's choir, conducted by the inimitable R' Shiya Rosen.

In perfect harmony and with counterbalancing beauty, this vocal philharmonic explores the song’s fluid dynamism across multiple scales and modes. Tempos ebb and flow, all in flawless time.

Rounding out this performance is none other than the masterfully orchestrated Sababa Band, led with studio-grade accuracy by the one and only Mendy Herskowitz.
