At a time when the future of Torah in America was far from certain, Reb Aharon envisioned something revolutionary: a flourishing world of Torah learning in… He dreamed of raising generations of תלמידי חכמים whose dedication to learning would illuminate homes, communities, and generations to come.

What began as that vision grew into Beth Medrash Govoha, a cornerstone of the Torah world and a beacon whose influence reaches far beyond Lakewood. The sound of hundreds of thousands learning day and night echoes throughout Jewish communities across the globe, strengthening the spiritual foundation of Klal Yisroel and carrying forward a legacy that continues to shape our future.

When a group of Jews came to Lublin to ask the great Chozeh of Lulbin his advice regarding a fellow Jew who was causing distress to his neighbors. The Chozeh, upon seeing the name of this person said that he sees a great light shining forth from him. The people were confused how could such as sinner be radiating light! Later it was revealed that at the very moment the Chozeh made this statement, that person was lighting his Chanukah Menorah. The lesson is, when a Jew is in the midst of kindling the Menorah, a unique, immeasurable spiritual light shines forth.

A heartfelt tribute! We proudly present a special medley of Satmar songs, performed at the bar mitzvah celebration of the son of renowned Satmar philanthropist, Yoely Landau. Knowing his deep appreciation for the classic melodies popular during the time of the revered Satmar Rebbe, Rabbi Yoel Teitelbaum z'l, and inspired by his dedication to preserve their heritage, Yoely Horowitz of Shira Choir and Tzvi Blumenfeld of Freilach Band meticulously curated and arranged this medley, bringing these timeless songs back to the forefront of Jewish music.

Baleicht Aleh Velten - Hershy Weinberger - Dirshu Live

In the town of Lublin, the residents sought guidance from the revered Chozeh about a person they believed was spreading harmful rumors. Surprisingly, when they showed the Chozeh the name of the accused, he declared this person to be a tzaddik, radiant with goodness. Confused, the townsfolk visited the slanderer’s home and found him lighting the menorah. Intrigued, they returned to the Chozeh, who explained that the act of lighting a menorah fills the world with great light. “When a Yid lights Chanukah lecht,” he proclaimed, “he lights up the entire world and shines and shines!”

This story serves as a reminder that seemingly small mitzvos, such as lighting the menorah, are deeply significant to Hashem and cast a spiritual light that illuminates the world.

Michoel’s Flam-Hershy Weinberger, Naftali Schnitzler

To know Michoel was to love him. I consider myself so fortunate to have had such a wonderful relationship with Reb Michoel Schnitzler z”l, a pioneer in the world of Jewish music.

Of the many fond memories I have of our interactions together, one stands out in particular. Michoel approached me wanting to write a song in memory of his father, who he lost at a young age. He envisioned a piece where his father spoke to him and told him what it’s like in the Oilam HaEmes. Feeling like I wasn’t the best fit for the task, I suggested that Michoel approach his nephew, Naftali Schnitzler, and together they could write something powerful—Michoel about his father and Naftali about his grandfather. Sure enough, the song was created, but was never introduced to the world.

Fast forward, and it’s hard to believe we are already approaching the first yahrtzeit of our beloved Michoel. The past months have been painful, and initially, I couldn’t bring myself to express the loss in music. Listening to the song Michoel and Naftali worked on, however, made the emotions flow, and with them, new lyrics. This time, not about Michoel’s father, but about Michoel himself. Piecing together precious recordings Michoel had stored in his archives together with my own vocals and those of Naftali, the song finally felt complete.

It is my fervent hope that “Michoel’s Flam” touches hearts and neshamos just like Michoel was known to do.

At the wedding of his only child back in 1933, a local news station approached the holy Minchas Elazar, the Munkatcher Rebbe, in the hopes of conducting an interview. Dumbfounded by the sight of the large cameras and machinery, the Rebbe inquired and was told by his chassidim, "Rebbe, you can say something now and the Yidden in America will hear you!" Fascinated, the Rebbe jumped on the opportunity to share one important message, made up of just a few words - "I urge you, my dear brothers in America, observe Shabbos and things will go well for you!"

With the intention of infusing our generation with a renewed love of Shabbos, Hershy weinberger built a most powerful and inspiring melody around the Rebbe's words. Vocalists Hershy Weinberger, Dovy Meisels, Lipa Schmeltzer and the Yedidim Choir join together to bring this message to life. The results speak for themselves.

Four years ago, Hershy Weinberger, a new composer hit the scene. He started by sending a song to Naftali Schnitzler. Naftali and Hershey knew each other from years earlier and this connection started an incredible journey of music. ⁣

When Hershy met Shmueli Ungar for the first time, Naftali introduced him as the guy who "composed that song I sent you last year." ⁣It was a song that almost ended up on Shmueli Ungar's debut album. As we find ourselves in a world filled with questions. Shmueli approached Hershey and Naftali and reminded them of this song that had been sitting on the shelf for too long.⁣ Every thing in this world has it's time and place. Shmueli reminded them, the time for this song was now!⁣
