Should I Go To Yeshiva Or College?

A high school senior, uncertain about whether to go to Yeshiva or college, goes to the Lubavitcher Rebbe for advice.

Shuvu Banim - Moshe Auslander - TYH Nation

TYH Nation Presents: Shuvu Banim by Moshe Auslander

Chazal tell us that every day a heavenly voice, a Bas Kol, calls out to every Jewish soul, proclaiming, "Shuvu Banim Shovevim, My wayward children return to me." Sometimes we hear that voice stirring our soul to connect to G-d, sometimes we act on it, and sometimes the background noise and rush of everyday habits drown it out.

One of the Tannaim, the sages of the Talmud, named Elisha Ben Avuya, turned away from a life of connection to Hashem. He came to be known as Acher, or, "The other one." One day he heard this heavenly voice and he was positive it said, "Shuvu Banim Shovevim- Chutz MeiAcher- everyone can return except for Acher." He broke, and lost hope of ever returning.

Sometimes, when we hear that voice, and are inspired to return we hear the same thing he did; "Chutz MeiAcher, except for me. After all I've done, and after I've been gone for so long, after all my failed attempts at getting stronger, there is NO WAY Hashem meant me. Everyone else sure, but me? No way.

The truth is though, Hashem never gives up on His children. Not as a nation, and not as individuals. Our Rabbis teach that He didn't even give up on Acher. He really waited for his Teshuvah.

He knows what we've done. And He loves us anyways. When he said Shuvu BAnim- return my children.... he lovingly meant each and every one of us.

The weeks from Parshas (the Torah portion of) Shemos through Parshas Mishpatim are known as Shovevim. The first letters of the Hebrew names of each portion form the acronym, Shovevim. These weeks are especially opportune times to due Teshuva. The Parshios detail our descent into the lowest depths of Mitzraim (Egypt) and the upward journey of Yetzias Mitzraim (the Exodus) until we reached the most supreme levels above and beyond, and we received the Torah at Sinai.

So too, A Jew can return even from the deepest depths- he is never too far- and these weeks offer special Heavenly assistance to grow from even the lowest places.

This song is a personal conversation I had with Hashem, when I was feeling exactly these thoughts. It's an honor to share it with you.

Thank you to my new and close friends at TYH Nation for working together to bring this holy niggun to the world. Thank You Hashem! Moish

R' Moshe Auslander is a Mechanech, Rebbe and Camp Director in New York and New Jersey. His excitement and fire accompanies him from the classroom to heilige farbrengens with the chevra- when R' Moshe's in the room prepare for holy liftoff! Thank You Hashem is a group of amazing Yidden who love Hashem and are committed to helping as many Yidden as possible to feel close to our Father in Heaven.

Lipa Schmeltzer - Gevaldig Sh'begevaldig - Music Video

Lipa Schmeltzer is back again,

This time singing the praises of Kosher CBD’s Focus gum in an all new Sparks Next music video titled Gevaldig.

Offering a lighthearted look at the benefits of Kosher CBD’s newest sugar-free FOCUS gum, Lipa channels his inner artist as he tries to paint a portrait of Chasidic men and boys.

But Lipa finds himself hard pressed to bring his vision to life on canvas, often with very entertaining results, as he imagines his subjects atop a Brooklyn Bridge support beam and interacting with a cow in a green pasture. Chewing on his pack of Star-K and CRC certified Kosher CBD Focus gum as he works and realizing the benefits of all natural organic CBD oil,

Schmeltzer is finally able to hone in on the scene he keeps trying to create, much to the delight of his subjects.

Gevaldig is set as a remix version of Lipa's 2020 hit song by the same name and is Directed by Danny Finkelman.

New York Boys Choir - Bring It On - Ft. Nissim Black

Watch New York Boys Choir, one of the most refreshing and creative sounds in the Jewish music scene, under the leadership of renowned producer Yitzy Bald, collaborating with film producer, Yossi Zweig, Jewish Rapper Nissim Black, and musical producer and arranger extraordinaire, Doni Gross of DEG Productions. They decided to team up, to present this powerful music video/audio track, entitled "Bring It On".

This song is an ANTI-BULLYING song.

It is about bullying and encourages those that are bullied to take a stand for themselves.
Producer of the New York Boys Choir, Yitzy Bald, recalls being bullied by a bunch of boys, as a child, for over six years, while in a certain elementary school. This was at a time when bullying was not so recognized for how terrible it really is. "These bullies were so mean. They would lie about me and get me in trouble. I clearly remember spending time in the principal's office for things I never did. They would claim I shut down all the lights in the gym while the classes were playing in the gym (a safety hazard)... and countless other lies...They would make fun of me, isolate me from the rest of the class, and use countless, other hurtful tactics, to literally, destroy me. After fifth grade, I begged my parents to take me out of the school.

Thank G-d, my parents switched me out and sent me to a school named Yeshivah Torah Vodaath, where I had a great experience in every way. I made life long friends, had great rabbis and teachers, that I still keep in touch with, and grew in my self confidence and self esteem. The school administration's attitude, from top to bottom, was one of positivity, and one that promoted self growth of each student and appreciated the talents and creativity of every boy. It was there that I thrived in every way, both physically and spiritually. My Rabbi, Rabbi Pam, of blessed memory, encouraged my choice to go into the Judaic Studies teaching profession, while continuing with my musical talents. He told me not to stop my musical endeavors. On the contrary, he built me up in every way to utilize all my talents and gifts to increase the honor of heaven and bring joy to people throughout the world."

Bottom line...Bullying destroys people...And encouragement and positivity build people.

Yitzy Bald contacted Nissim Black during the initial stages of production and asked him if he would lend his talent to this song. He replied "I too was bullied as a kid! The message resonates within me so strongly....I gotta do this with you!"

Post Script..."To this day, when some of these bullies see me in the street, they can't even look me in the face, knowing of the damage they inflicted upon me. Let us all fight to eradicate this terrible disease by instituting a zero tolerance for bullying!"

Shlomo Simcha and The Sufrin Brothers - Kan Tzipor

Shlomo Simcha, collaborated with all of his brothers to record a cover version of “Kan Tzipor.”

The video was produced in memory of their dear father, Rabbi Mordechai Tzvi Sufrin OBM, who was known for cherishing the Mitzvah of Shiluach Hakan. The song was one of his favorites at the Shabbos table and family gatherings. He helped people perform this special Mitzvah around the world often times witnessing miraculous results.

The lyrics are based on the Torah's directive to send away the mother bird before taking her young or her eggs. The Torah promises long life to one who performs this Mitzvah of compassion. It is also known to be a Segulah for many Brochos, including Shidduchim and bearing children.

Kan Tzipor was composed by the legendary music director Yigal Calek, and made known by his boys choir “Pirchei Yerushalayim" in 1974.

Do You Know Why Amudim Was Founded?

was founded on the simple yet vital belief:

No individual should have to face a crisis without a rock of support.

Because when crisis hits, loneliness can sometimes feel worse than the crisis itself.

Victims of abuse, addiction, and any form of individual or collective emergency search in the dark for solutions, for support, for someone to show that they care - and that they can help.

Enter Amudim.

Their vast operation leaves no avenue unexplored when it comes to providing both moral and practical support to struggling victims and their families.

Before Amudim, people suffered in silence. In paralysis. And in shame.

Now, they know there’s someone to call - a resource to help them start healing.

Because Amudim cares - they listen, and they act.

But they can’t take on this mammoth mission of kindness alone.

Amudim believes that every struggling individual deserves the gift of compassion and dignity - and we believe Amudim deserves our unwavering support for their vital cause.

The UnitetoHeal campaign brings together top leaders and entertainers in our community to give back and confront the greatest challenges and unspoken issues facing us all.

Sadigura - Le'manoi - Motty Ilowitz

As a magnificent edifice is built, we’re creating history.

And we’re giving you a chance to be part of it.

The new Sadigura shul - a landmark in Golders Green - will consist of a spacious beis hamedrash, a modern mikva, a shiur room, a heichal hatorah as well as a beautiful simcha hall available for private hire.

The Rebbe z”l laid the even hapinah during the advanced stages of his illness, but he came because building this shul meant the world to him.

He knew that Golders Green needed a shul - a place where varimkeit and heimishkeit would be combined with comfort and luxury.

A shul that would accommodate the wider kehilla, in the heart of North West London.

The Rebbe z”l started the process, but it’s up to us to finish it.

The goal of this campaign is to raise the final £1.5M necessary to make the Rebbe’s dream a reality.

We’re so close to seeing the building finally completed..

The air is filled with anticipation and excitement - not just for Sadigura chassidim, but for all of Golders Green.

Together, let’s actualise the dream of the Rebbe z”l and give North West London Ohr Yisroel.

Let's make this vision a reality for the Rebbe z"l, for ourselves, for our families, and for the future generations of our community.

Israeli Woman Stabbed In Front Of Her Children

A 26-year-old woman was stabbed and seriously injured next to Kever Shimon HaTzaddik in Jerusalem at about 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday morning as she was pushing a stroller with her twin babies on the way to taking her three older children to school in the morning.

The female terrorist fled the scene.

Paramedics administered emergency medical aid at the scene and evacuated the woman to Hadassah Har HaTzofim Hospital. B’Chasdei Hashem, doctors at the hospital designated her condition as lightly injured.

MDA deputy spokesperson Nadav Meltzner said that “there was a huge commotion at the scene when the team arrived and the injured woman was in a state of great distress as the knife was still lodged inside the wound.”

The knife was one foot long and the woman was evacuated to the hospital with the knife still lodged inside her back.

The children were Baruch Hashem, unharmed and were supervised by police officers at the scene.

A large number of police forces, aided by a helicopter, began an extensive manhunt immediately after the incident, which was documented on security cameras. A little over an hour after the attack, they located the 14-year-old terrorist in her school, located next to the scene of the incident.

Security officials fear a new wave of terror as the attack comes days after a security guard was seriously injured in a ramming attack and less than a week after a man was stabbed by Sha’ar Shechem.

LIVE: Fourth Anniversary of Rubashkin’s Miracle - Ended

Join Live at 9:00 PM ET: R’ Sholom Mordechai Rubashkin will celebrate the fourth anniversary of his release with a ‘Night of Bitachon’ event with music by singer Avraham Fried and Shira Choir.

Four years ago on Zos Chanukah 5778 we all celebrated the miraculous release of Reb Sholom Mordechai Rubashkin. It wasn’t just a Nes and a victory for him and his family, it was a victory for us all – a triumph of trust.

As he so clearly demonstrated throughout his ordeal, Emunah and Bitachon are the tools Hashem gave us to overcome adversity. On Gimmel Teves Hashem showed clearly and publicly that trusting in Him will not just help us endure hard times. When we face the hard times with Emunah and Bitachon, we will merit the Geulah.

We all face hard times and now more than ever we need to strengthen our Emunah and Bitachon. Join Reb Sholom Mordechai live in celebrating his Nes and in applying its lessons in our lives.

The Annual Night of Bitachon will be tonight, Monday night, Beis Teves, December 6th.

The program will take place at Bnos Devora, 360 Oak St. Lakewood NJ 08701. Doors will open at 8:30. The program will begin at 9:00.

The event will feature a live discussion and Farbrengen with Reb Sholom Mordechai and his close friend Reb Pinchos Lifschutz on how to face our own situations with Emunah and Bitachon.

Also featured will be Getzel Rubashkin, the author of the bestseller, “Sholom Rubashkin: The inside story” and a video showcasing the work of Aleph Bais Gimmel.

Throughout the event, we will be inspired through music and dancing led by Avraham Fried and the Shirah Choir.

Two Israelis Drove into Ramallah, Car Torched

RAMALLAH, West Bank -- Two Israelis drove into the Palestinian city of Ramallah Wednesday, and their car was surrounded by a crowd and set ablaze, according to the Israeli army and video footage posted online. Palestinian police turned the men over to Israel.

The two were lightly injured and released, the army said in a statement.

Video footage online showed Palestinian residents jumping on to top of the abandoned vehicle, which appeared to have Israeli license plates, before it was set ablaze. Palestinian police later loaded the car onto a truck and drove it away while the crowd watched.

The Israeli army said in a statement that Palestinian police escorted the pair away.

It was not immediately clear why they entered the city in the occupied West Bank. Local media reported they apparently drove into Ramallah by mistake.

Israelis are not permitted to enter areas of the West Bank under Palestinian control without special permission. Palestinian police referred questions to the governor's office, which did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Those That Are Behind Bars This Chanukah

For the men and women spending Chanukah behind bars, this holiday looks starkly different. Their cells are bleak and lonely; there are no candles to illuminate the darkness, no latkes to eat, and no presents to exchange. They are fathers and mothers, sisters and brothers, but they feel entirely alone and forgotten.

Founded 40 years ago by Rabbi Sholom Lipskar at the direction of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Aleph supports people who are isolated, forgotten, and abandoned: those in prisons, mental institutions, the military—and their families left behind. Through religious programming, legal advocacy, and humanitarian aid, Aleph serves as a lifeline for these individuals and their shattered families, to ensure that no one is ever alone forgotten.

In the words of a young mother whose husband was incarcerated: Aleph kept me from sinking into a bottomless black hole. There was no judgment - only understanding… It gives me the chills when I think about it because it really is true; when all hope is lost and you feel utterly alone, you’re really not because Aleph is always there.”

And we recently received this note from a man in prison: “You have brought me air when I didn’t know where my next breath was coming from. You have picked up my pieces when I felt being whole again was useless. I am not alone because of the Aleph Institute.”

For nearly four decades, Aleph has been creating and implementing programs designed to rehabilitate offenders, counsel, and assist them and their families, reduce or eliminate periods of incarceration, and provide moral and ethical educational programs. This past year, through compassionate release and clemency efforts during the pandemic, Aleph helped over 100 individuals be released from prison and reunite with their families.

Partner with Aleph and help bring light to those who need it most! #BETHELIGHT

Baalei Teshuvah | R' Yaakov Klein | Music Video

TYH Nation Presents: BAALEI TESHUVAH

Chazal tells us that our judgment is signed on Rosh HaShana and sealed on Yom Kippur. The Zohar HaKadosh teaches that we can still do teshuvah until Hoshana Rabbah. But the Baal Shem Tov revealed that even if we slept through Elul and the Tishrei chagim, it’s still not over. The final, final verdict is decided on the final night of Chanukah.

Standing in front of the Chanukah candles, we catch our reflection in the black ice of our spiritual numbness and find a flickering flame dancing at the very essence of our being. Suddenly, the darkness melts away before the warmth and illumination; we are the Kohen Gadol, lighting the Menorah in the Beis HaMikdash, as pure as the hidden jar of oil, sealed with Hashem’s love. And in this moment, a still, silent echo reverberates within the depths of our souls, filling the world with yearning, “We want to be Baalei Teshuvah! Tatteh, bring us closer, closer to you!”

May we merit to be sealed in the book of true-life – a life of faith, a life of depth, a life of holiness and connection! Ah freilachin Chanukah!

Itzik Orlev - Olam Chadash

Olam Chadash has an up-tempo, happy and contemporary pop-reggaeton sound. The music video is directed by Liron Aputa, filmed in the beautiful grounds of Timna Park in Israel and choreographed by Or Edrei. It features Or’s dance troupe as astronauts dancing with Itzik in another world, between earth and sky. Untouched by man. A place where a person truly feels their sole dependence on the generosity of G-d.

Itzik‘s message in this new song is: “The new world that follows Covid19, has brought us all to a reality where people understand much more that only the will of God is what determines how we live. What was – is not necessarily what will be. ‘For, behold, the keeper of Israel has neither rested nor slept.’”

The music was composed by Yaakov Menashe, the lyrics written by Tamar Sharvit (Asanfi) and musical arrangement and production by Snir Marcus.

Happiness. We all pursue it. But how do we experience it? Hashem answers us: אם אתה משמח את שלי, אני משמח את שלך - “If you make Mine happy, I will make you happy!” Simply applied - Hashem is revealing: there is a unique joy reserved for those that gladden others.

Additionally, and perhaps more deeply - Hashem guarantees; when one engages in that which is Godly with happiness - that very spiritual joy will surely permeate one’s entire existence.

The Early Shabbos Band is a group of close friends who amidst the hecticity of everyday life, somehow find the time to passionately practice this inyan and spread the light of this message.

Their newest song “Mesameach!”invites you to join their עבודה of living in the world of Hashem, where in His Presence, happiness is the only option. And to rejoice in the awareness of Hashem’s promise: “אני משמח את שלך” That’s happiness!! Riiiight!!??

Eli Levin Releases a Brand New Chanukah Video!

Chanukah has arrived, and a man is standing by his Chanukah Menorah together with his son. He's ready to light, but he's deep in thought. He lost his father this year, and standing in front of his father's Menorah is bringing back all these memories of all the traditions that his father had passed on...

So many of us have lost loved ones recently, and Yom Tov is a time that causes those memories to surface and make them so sorely missed. The message of this song is that a father always loves his child. Our grandparents are watching over us as we pass on these beautiful traditions to our own children.

Hashem, our Father, loves us immeasurably and he has given us these Mitzvos to create a chain that spans our entire history. We are all connected, father to son, and these traditions keep us strong in our faith and allow us to connect our parents to our own children.

May we light the Menorah next year in the Beis Hamikdash in Yerushalayim!

Extremist Cult of Lev Tahor | The Story of Mendy Levy

An 18-year-old who fled an extremist cult called Lev Tahor has recounted his horrific upbringing in the group - revealing that his father died after the leaders refused to let him see a doctor.

Mendy Levy, who was born in Canada in 2003, recalled being forced to swim in freezing cold, snake-filled water and eat hot pepper if he told a lie. When he was 15 years old, he was told he had to marry his 12 year old cousin, and that was the last straw for him.

Mendy said the group, which was founded by Shlomo Helbrans in the 1980s, was about 'total control.'

Palestinian Terrorist Kills One, Wounds Three in Old City

A Hamas gunman opened fire in the alleyways of Jerusalem’s Old City on Sunday morning, killing one Israeli man and wounding four others, two of them seriously, Israeli officials said.

Police officers at the scene opened fire at the terrorist, a 42-year-old Palestinian man from East Jerusalem, and killed him, according to police.

The fatality was named as Eliyahu David Kaye, 26, an employee of the Western Wall who resided in the central city of Modiin. He was the first Israeli civilian to be killed by Palestinian violence in over six months, since May’s 11-day conflict with terror groups in the Gaza Strip, which killed 12 civilians in Israel.

Hamas hailed the attack, calling it a “heroic operation,” and identified the terrorist as a member of the organization, Fadi Abu Shkhaydam, a Hamas leader in the Shuafat refugee camp in East Jerusalem, where he lived.

According to police, Abu Shkhaydam entered the Old City armed with a Beretta M12 submachine gun and opened fire at three Israeli men who were walking through the area, near the Chain Gate entrance to the Temple Mount, fatally wounding one of them and seriously injuring the other two.

Two female police officers rushed to the scene from one side of the alleyway, opening fire at Shkaydam. Shortly thereafter, two male officers ran in to assist them.

“[The gunman] moved through the alleys and fired quite a bit. Luckily, the alley was mostly empty because otherwise — heaven forbid — there would have been more casualties. The entire incident lasted 32 or 36 seconds. The actions of the female officers was — operationally — at the highest possible level,” Public Security Minister Omer Barlev said at the scene of the attack.

Kaye was taken to Hadassah Hospital Mount Scopus, where he was pronounced dead. One of the severely injured victims, a rabbi, was taken to Shaare Zedek Medical Center, where his condition stabilized somewhat after emergency surgery, doctors said. Another man sustained moderate-to-severe injuries — from gunshots and from shrapnel — and was taken to Hadassah Hospital Ein Kerem.

Zevi Weinstock feat. Ari Cukier "Anim Zemiros"

Zevi Weinstock and Ari Cukier are back with a beautiful haartzig single titled Anim Zemiros. This song, unlike Zevi’s previous singles, is dedicated to the memory of Jay Agular (Yosef Eliyahu ben Yaakov Leib), a man with a gentle persona, strong perseverance, and an incredible love for his family & friends, and Torah lifestyle.

His love for Hashem was personified through his chazanus of Anim Zemiros. He always felt that this particular tefillah was the highest of praise for HaKadosh Baruch Hu and enunciated each word with his beautiful, melodic voice specifically on Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur.

He internalized the words of Anim Zemiros and made sure to make a kiddush Hashem with his sensitive nature with whomever he encountered.

For two long Yomin Noraim, his shul, Congregation of Darchei Noam of Oceanside, has missed hearing his voice lead and inspire to connect with Hashem and each other.

May this song be an ode to his memory, and may his legacy never be forgotten.

Anim Zemiros was arranged and produced by Ari’s longtime friend and “band” mate, the super talented Eli Schwebel. Eli has a special talent for letting the songs speak for themselves and not “over producing” music and arrangements. The song, melody and carefully crafted harmonies are what really allow the composition and vocals to shine. “There is something so pure about Zevi’s vocals,” says Cukier, “That you can’t help but feel the deep emotion of the song.” Anim Zemiros is Zevi’s fifth song to date and it seems with each release his singing gets better and better and you just want to keep listening to him perform.
